I have a theory about the appearance of the enemy Batallion that has spawned behind my lines. I think that the Bn. was scheduled
to spawn but I owned the hex so it didn't appear. And then partisans converted the hex and once it was "available" the Bn spawned
automatically. Now I have to deal w/ it. And I've got my hands full at the moment. Maybe I can find a division that isn't doing much and
devote them to rear area clean up.

The expected reinforcements display says that I'm going to get a boat-load of units after I capture hex 29,61 and the same goes for
the other beach contested. So I'm going to have units coming out of my ears.

T28 and still just mopping up. The ending of this scenario, for me, is kinda anticlimactic.

I'm going to do the nuclear strike on Nagasaki about 8 months too early just to see what the results are. Pretty cool being able to
sort of duplicate something about real history.

Here's the combat result of dropping the Nuke on Nagasaki. I don't remember assigning some B-17's to the attack but I see there's a
group of them there. Not necessary as it turns out. I see the fallout drifted to the east contaminating lots of Jap terrain.

Here's the Jap losses so far. There are two things I wanted to say about that: (1) there's only 4 command groups left and I'm thinking
I should go after them. (2) I didn't get to shoot down very many planes, since they were withdrawn so early. It might behove the Jap
player to go for three-dot attacks w/ his ( or her ) planes because of the shortened period of time of their availability.

Here's turn 30's front lines. There's not much left to do. The scenario should end after tomorrow's turn. ( Each game turn is one
day simulated. )

I dropped a couple more bridges just for insurance. Might help slow down the flow of supplies to the Jap units that are left.

It just occurs to me that someone else might want to try out this scenario too. I've attached it below.

Just replace the dot txt w/ dot zip and unzip it and you'll have the lgf_Olympic 45.sce file, the scenario.

Here's what I'm doing w/ the airplanes. Some of them are light green but have them on "rest". I'm resting everybody who is 50% or
less. That seems to give me use of the plane every other turn. Not too bad.

OK. The scenario ended and evidently I won. Um......I want to play this scenario but from the Jap side and see if it's still playable.
Stay tuned.

Here's the start of the Jap side of things. The Allies are going through their turn, it just started and so far the ships are bombarding and
we've come to a place where I'd like to make a change to the scenario. Steve Sill said something about modding this thing for us and
so, note to Steve: Um.....would it be possible to move the Jap planes at that airfield to some other airfield so that they don't get
bombarded on turn 1 by the Allies? Thanks.

EDIT: That flotilla bombarded those squadrons again later in the combat phase and evaporated all the planes at the airfield. The
Japs won't get the use of them now. I guess.

It seems that the Japs start the game w/ 265 units in play. I'll show you some of the expected reinforcements in a later post.

Here's the expected reinforcements I promised you. Nobody new on turn 4 but lots of stuff on turns 3 and 5. I'm wondering if any of
the Jap units can reconstitute. I don't remember any Allied units coming back from the dead so I don't expect any Japs to either.

... would it be possible to move the Jap planes at that airfield to some other airfield so that they don't get bombarded on turn 1 by the Allies?

I took a look and actually all the Jap airfields are within range of possible naval bombardment. The turn 1 start locations limit the airfield attacks, but after turn 1 the US player can move those naval units anywhere and attack any of the Jap airfields. So, I don't think there is anything I can do.

I guess maybe we can make excuses and say that if the US player wants to bomb planes instead of the Jap defenders, then there is that trade off ?
