French forces did not make a dent in the invading Germans, but we caused some losses to them. We lost some brave aircrew and planes in air attacks.

Faithful to its treaty obligations, China has turned Sweden over to Germany in return for receiving Hangchow from Japan.

The British and French commands confirm the end of much Polish Resistance. In Western Europe the citizens of the Duchy are joyful at the liberation of Luxembourg from the Germans. The Panzer division in Amsterdam has been damaged by repeated attacks.
Major air battles over the area of the Maginot line have resulted in casualties for both sides, with French losses being grievous.
Dutch troops fight on but the German forces are very strong.
Here are the losses inflicted during the German initiative. Many reflect losses in Poland.

Soviet Union forced to go to War over Japanese interference in Middle East.

From the front :
In Poland the troops defending Vilnius continue to resist, and now have a headquarters, the "Liberation Army".
On the Dutch and French front air battles did not go our way and while attrition affected our enemies also we are still not winning the war of numbers. The Dutch troops had to withdraw within French lines as they were about to be crushed.
GOWN's heads are spinning at the diplomatic moves, and all are evaluating the new state of the world with Persia under Japanese control. While the Soviets have legitimate interests in Persia we do too. We will certainly hold off on attacking the Eastern powers, but Axis interest in Persia holds our attention, and we watch developments.

Japan is NOT allied with Germany. She denies she is a member of the "axis". As for the Soviets they just may push her into that camp.

China notes that its arrangement with Japan is that of a mutual non-aggression pact valid until Jan. 1942 and does not require it to come to Japan's aid against the USSR. Therefore China requests a formal cease-fire with the USSR.

Soviet Armies are moving into Persia and Manchuria. The Soviets will not permanently occupy any Chinese or Korean cities liberated but will transfer these cities to the appropriate owners when a opportunity presents itself.
Persia will be occupied temporarily by Soviet forces to be returned to neutrality and independence when its sovereignty is no longer threatened.

Leading an advance with Artillery is never a good idea.

Artillery/Infantry were all that was available in Baku, I was not expecting Persia to turn Japanese considering the house rules.
Watch out for the airpower around Vladivostok a lot of Soviet Fighter Pilots going for Ace.

GOWN is sad to announce that Vilnius has fallen.
On the front the French are fighting fiercely in defense of their homes, and counter attacking when they can do so to advantage. Holland is under German domination, but forces across Belgium are still battling. The enemy is taking losses. First line armor and aircraft are being destroyed, on both sides.
At sea patrols of the Portuguese and Royal navies have engaged U-Boats. There were losses on both sides but the balance is in our favor.
On the strategic side GOWN notes the Soviets are active in their campaign in Persia. American sentiment seems to be moving towards a more active stance, but there is still resistance to becomming too engaged.
