I have his PW and will get to the round today at some point. I will guide the ship till his return, which we hope will be swift. Two tribes, given to stacked deck against us, can we develop a line of contact to plan??!!

Unless, the rest of the other players want another player to run the nation that is...

Well I cannot speak for the other players I would be happy just to see some turns played, regards sides I could switch out with The Empire if he wants to change sides that would not help Das Reich or The Eastern Empire quite the opposite. So a solution that pleases everyone would be welcome I leave it to someone else to come up with one, I had my shot.

Just Remember that Nippon and New Empire have been Allies for a long time so with that in mind there are not many workable permutations.
Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

Personally, I see it as an up hill battle, as you received the lion share of the ill advised AI opponent, but Das, Empire and Eastern Emp have the strategically better lay out. So it would be the best balance. I'm fine with playing both Empire and Eastern Emp., but I'm also fine with Two tribes playing the role. I think this could be a fun scenario and don't want to see it fold. I'm more interested in a fun and challenging game... We all know the situation. Ironduke you played it perfect and got the luck of the A.I. near you.. so be it. Everything isn't always fair... but we can have fun, and if we dethrone you, then it's more kudos to us. I'm looking forward to the challenge... Two tribes, I am likely certain you are superior to me at commanding a navy... you can take it and I'm quite fine. As a great american philosopher once stated so eloquently: "A man has got to know his limitations."

Navy wise we are hosed US and Japan have better carriers and better battleships. But at least England has carriers. Never fought a naval battle against a human really.

okay, I'll take them... but I see it differently... let's set up a line of communication as this one is insecure... I'd like to keep the Enigma Code unbroken this time. Let me know what mode of communication you want to use... we need to form a tight plan if we want to take this one.

Ok I will hang back on the land warfare and focus on defending French interests, to make the land warfare more challenging for all concerned. I expect no thanks from my allies but I am French so I don't care[:)]

Honestly, Tom just play to win. This is a game and we have the parameters before us. You are allied with Japan and play whatever is best. Union is undecided at this point, although I expect he will side with you guys... let's just let it rip and have fun... I think we are at a disadvantage, but not an untenable situation. Let's just have fun and see what becomes of this... I plan on giving my country all and I expect the same. I take pride, as in game 23 ( I believe it's 23 with you) that honor and notoriety can be found in putting up a good fight, even if it doesn't amount to a win...

Chuck while you are here can I put you down as a good player on the player ratings?

Yes, although I have my doubts at times. Move ArmouredLion from Beginner to Average. He is far too clever!

Hey, never been so honored to be considered average. I'll give average a go and hope to not screw it up. Thanks for the kind words Tom and you too Chuck... me thinks? :)

While the Union is not at war with any Power but the Fascists we have accepted an alliance with The Republic.

Our longtime ally Nippon has been an ally of the Republic, and we have fought the Fascists along with the French and Japanese.

We would prefer peace, but may end up at war.

Sorry I haven't been on here guys, I posted a small explanation on the ratings thread. Mike has agreed to help me with my turns when I am swamped with life. I am close to my regular gameload now, so things should get better.
