I am not sure what the question is. But I will try to answer what I think it is.

Railing units has three rules concerning ZOC.
1) A unit may be railed out of ZOC if there is another friendly unit in the hex.
2) A unit may be railed into ZOC if there is another friendly unit in the hex.
3) A unit may not rail through a ZOC, regardless of friendly units.

Edit: I see this been solved already. [:)]

The "surprise" of the invasion of Denmark allows the Danish navy to save their bacon and the ships are long gone by the time the assault guns of the 1 PzJgr Div arrive at Frederickshavn (6,8,8 rolled).

Elsewhere, mechanised and armoured units begin moving west from Poland.

Japan debarks Imperial Guard and Tokyo MIL to Wenchow.

Just two combats declared. Assault in China?

On the grounds that the two possible retreat paths are ZOC'd, I'll go with Assault.

The Japanese do the job smoothly. The three units in Wenchow advance to occupy the hex.The German attack was automatic.

Edit: To late as usual. [:D] And could Japan, in this game, please throw some bad die rolls once in a while? And not only when I play Japan. [:D]

Japan Re-bases fighters to (76,141) and (83,147).

Von Rundstedt reorganises 4 units in the west.

Back to Allies.

I was thinking of the reverse (2nd) game. [:D]

USSR demands Bessarabia. No other demands or declarations of war.

Will the claim be allowed or denied?

I'm keenly interested in, what I must assume, will be an aggressive BEF strategy. If it's not too much trouble I'd like to see (i.e., screen caps) its details as it unfolds (of course only after all OPSEC concerns are addressed wrt/to any such postings). As I'm not rooting for either side I hope it's ok to post such "strategy" questions in this main thread as opposed to both sides private threads. Again, I understand that answers may come only after OPSEC concerns are passed.

This one is so clear thing I can answer here. Italy did not have any units on Egyptian border so CW was able to play agressive. Actually I did the same in my 2 player game with AllenK even if Italians were ready to attack Egypt. I just sent more troops to Egypt from all over the world.

I can post later pictures how BEF are set to France and we all can see the effect on German attack.

I do not consider it so aggressive sending Wavell to France. I've done so for a long time, and I've seen others doing the same. The downside is usually not that Egypt is put at risk but that you overextend your precious sea lift. And burn oil.

Thanks! I've very interested in both of these (i.e., BEF deployments and the impact on the Battle for France). Also, I'm interested in what you do with the BEF after France falls assuming it's not destroyed (i.e, evacuated or sets up an enclave in France).

Interesting ... so do you believe this is the standard play among the experienced WiF players?

In our first game (still going on), BEF fell back on the Bayonne - Bordeaux area with stragglers getting eliminated. This pocket was fast reduced to Bayonne but BEF hold on to that hex and was eventually replaced by Spaniards. Now it is summer '42 and CW still controls Bayonne.

xxxx

I haven't observed enough games on WIF-con to claim what is standard or not.

In hindsight, we probably should have dealt with Bayonne before pressing into Spain. The strategy of holing up in Bayonne looks a good one for CW, particularly if defensive shore bombardment is in play.

After Gibraltar we should not have done anything else but send all troops to northern Spain. I learned from my mistakes. Others can learn from my mistakes. Smart people learn from other people's mistakes [:)]
