And then there was this strike on Kota Bhura and this time they were escorted by Nates and there was no
opposition this time. More strikes are needed to close the base. On the other hand if he doesn't base
planes here why bomb it? Just have to repair the damage when we get it.

And what followed was a brave attack by my noble aviators on the port of Singapore without escorts and they got two
TT hits on the Repulse. I was hoping for better but hey, they WERE unescorted in the daylight and there was lots of
CAP and the sun was in their eyes. I'll send 'em an email.

And then there was ANOTHER strike on Pearl by the noble warriors of the air. This time there were several good hits.
We sunk another little one and put some hurt on others. More strikes are warrented.

Part of the top cover for the Malaya invasion force is a pair of CV's and one of them launched a strike on the port of
Georgetown and didn't sink a single ship. And had some losses. But they did put the hurt on several ships. One more
strike might finish them off.

The other CV in that group launched an attack on the port at Kota Bhura and there were no ships in port so they hit the
facilities and the strike didn't do all that much for the war effort. I need better recon of these places before I send
the wrong kind of strike.

And then the Allies attacked the Jap shipping at Kota Bhura and my CAP drove them away. I installed that CAP yesterday
without the benefit of some AF dudes present just so I could CAP the hex and it worked.

And the next thing to happen is this Allied strike on the port at Sangoria. The CAP drove them almost
away. They got a shot at a ship but fortunately missed.

And then there was another unescorted strike on the port at Singapore and I got a bunch of planes damaged but I got some
good hits on the major ships there. It was worth it. More strikes are needed to send them to the bottom.

In RHS, Sonia and Ann aircraft are flagged as dive bombers, so you will score more hits with them against enemies with no AA or CAP cover.

I should well imagine that would be true of just about any bomber of whatever mission. Just a thought. But thanks for
the heads up. I'll make adjustments accordingly. Also, I'm finding these contests rather bloody. Has there been a
change in the beta to cause that? Is it an RHS change? Bloody fights so far.

EDIT: I've checked out some of the squadrons and I've discovered that they have some of the more higher-skilled pilots.
Lots of them. I'm wondering if this is an RHS II change from stock because I don't remember seeing this level of
skill in an operational unit this early in the war since Focus Pacific games.

Then there was another strike on the port at Manila and I seem to have hit a ship while they were there taking pictures
and flipping people on the ground the bird. I'd really rather they pay a little more attention to their jobs. Good
practice. I noticed that no subs have been hit so far. I'm wondering what priority they have vs ships.

EDIT: I've had another look at the number of VAL's involved in the strike and I've changed my mind. Those guys
deserve a metal. I'll scrounge some metals up and send those guys an email.

You will see more losses from air bombing because aircraft in RHS have several bomb loadouts depending on mission type. Raids against airfield and LCUs are performed with several small bombs, leading to more aircraft damaged/destroyed on the ground and more LCU disablements. Also, the Chinese junk ship will sink even if hit by a single 15kg (30lb) bomb.

And then there was an Allied attack on a port in southern Thailand that I didn't happen to have a CAP over and my
sailors got lucky because there were no hits. It might also be that the bombers were up at 5K feet rather than on
the deck where the hits are. I must here state that yes, I do tend to lose a LOT more planes than Brian.

That's a golden flow of good advice and info, thank you muchly. I had no idea

about the bomb loadouts. I'll have to pay more attention. Good tip. Also,

the comment about the Chinese Junk's plying the waters, I've seen only a single

Chinese Junk that survived a bombing attack. All of the others were sunk. Or

otherwise disabled in some way. Which is okay with me. I'm not sure how to

employ my Junks on those Chinese rivers. Already several TF's of them have

been ambushed by Brian and his PG's. Now I know there are threats on that

river and I'll see if I can't find some PB's to come to the rescue or something.

I suppose it's possible to get a DD or two upriver; I'll have to try that.
