If the new version comes out in year 2040, it would be the Type 00.

I've played this game to absolute death for ten years. Would I be willing to pony up again, simply as a way of saying, "Thank you. It's been a blast!" Yeah, I would.

But I don't expect any sort of re-do of this engine. I think the next will be a new version built from the ground up.

Gary has said he'd never attempt it again. It was enough this last time. So there will not be another WitP from Gary at least. As to enhancements?????[:)]

Really? Was that from an interview or something? Would like to read it if so!
I clearly remember reading this too. I can't remember where though.

For the basegame, I would welcome more accurate load capacities of allied shipping. The current ones are a bit generous to say the least. The shortages the allies experienced in 1942-43 are not reflected very well.

Viewed from an historic perspective, certain terrain, Burma, Papua New Guinea inland, North Pacific, is too well suited for large scale military operations. Maybe something can be done, increased wear and tear, disruption, fatigue, supply loss.

A large-scale project is out of the question probably, but if it would be done, a game with current level of details on a 3D triangular globe called world war 2 would be nice.

The gameplay is already good, no need to improve there.

what we need: LESS CLICKS.. some way of improving the user interface

My impression is that a software only update should not cost that much.

Mediterranean for me, well i am still doing my mod.
Biggest difficulties is the scale, it needs to be 20nm at least, the fact that units/aircraft do not consume fuel so without an hack like putting HI in North Africa there isn't much reason to send fuel there, Axis ships are impossible to retire, and there isn't a "trade account" for Allied ship losses, there are allied ships that enter and get out of Med several times and there is no way to deal with it without house rules.

I didn't realize that this section of the forum was anything other than War in the PACIFIC. Let us not stray to other theaters.

Really!!! From anything from F-35's to hooters. Seems to me this forum is open to pretty much anything.

This. Plus there is always room for improvement in the AI department. Playerbase is still there and large enough

Very interested. Better AI. Less clicks. Especially at babysitting pilot babies.

But, the major question is, just who requested this? Seems to this old fart that this has been requested many multitude of times, and to no avail.

I’m not.
I’m nearly ready for a PBEM opponent and I don’t want all the humans to disappear before I start a pbem game!
Currently playing my first PBEM, no house rules Scenario 1 as IJ.

I'd be willing to spend money for this, but I like it the way it is as well. Best game around. However, judging from the forum posts, there are things that could be changed or updated.
