Finally, the Americans have put together a Death Star that is heading for the Marianas. I expect a hard fight for those islands but it should lure the rest of the Japanese fleet out for a show down!

It's June 1944 and, if the Germans are still around at the end of the year I'll be stunned. Since we last spoke Romania has surrendered, the allies have liberated Belgium and Luxembourg, Berlin is in ruins and the allied strat bombers seek out targets, Warsaw fell as did Koingsburg (aka Kalinigrad)and the Western allies have captured Kolin and part of the Ruhr.

Meanwhile, Japan is in the process of losing the rest of Manchukuo while being held down by the expanding Chinese army. Most of the Japanese land units in Burma are dead.

But, Japan did score a naval win in sinking two of my amphib units and the CV that was responsible got away. [:@] The British navy is moving out of the DEI so that I can track down the Japanese naval units and finally destroy them.

It's October 1944 and you have to see this one to believe it. The Allies attacked Berlin with everything and all of their units just could not quite make it into the hex to make Germany surrender. Hitler killed himself anyway and Berlin fell the next turn but, can you imagine losing a game just one hex away. After Germany surrendered the allies crushed Solvakia and Hungry in the next turn and put the Vichy government on trial.

Meanwhile, Japan fights on. China is not going well for them as the Soviets press in from the north and the Chinese come in from the South. Chinese partisans liberated Amoy and the British are at the gates of Rangoon while also savaging Japanese convoys. The allies are about the invade Okinawa but Japan can be a tough nut to crack. No a-bomb until August 1945 and last time I dropped three of the and Japan still held out until 1946.

Japan did lose another CV and CL this turn while Japanese Kamikazes did serious damage to a British heavy cruiser.

So, in the end Japan held out for another year! I did not post much as it was just a series of more bashing on Japan followed by more bashing on Japan. As you can see, the allies landed in southern Japan and were clawing their way up the archipelago having conquered both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Russians pitched in with amphibious TFs of their own and with ground support being provided from Korea. The Americans also seized Hokkaido in the north and were starting to march south. Russian strat bombers near Vladivostok joined American strat bombers near Saipan on pounding Japanese industry. China liberated Shanghai and the British (on the last turn of the game) finally marched into Rangoon.

At somepoint units and MMP became meaningless. I think Russia ended with more than 12,000 MMP saved up.

But, I do really enjoy the game! The Axis powers seemed to follow a fairly historical pattern. But, if Russia can survive 1942 it's pretty much a done deal for the allies. Now I need to try this as the axis powers to see if I can bring Washington under my boot.

Thanks for reading!
