1) Played too many games, have reached terminal velocity.
2) Cookie Cutter has scripted the game. You have no choice but to follow specific methods to win. Makes the majority of Map, Units, etc. obsolete. Cannot handle the "Italian Morale Strategy", regardless of which side I play.
3) Game needs a point system or something.
4) Without a true Reload protection system, don't like competitive games. I make bad moves all the time, one significant bad turn, I've lost the game. I don't want to reload or should just play with reloads. Some of the turns I've seen, make me feel like I'm on an online casino/poker game.
5) Used to enjoy the Pacific Theater, but that's obsolete (see #2)

Need a new drug, any ideas? Thinking about playing more Face 2 Face, Advanced Squad Leader.

I'm not going anywhere. More like an old UFC fighter that has been in the Cage too much. I'm like the Cowboy Donald Cerrone. I fight too much, getting my ass kicked left/right. I probably should go full "Commentator".

This mask sh-t is driving me crazy. I don't even like to leave the house. I cannot stand seeing another human being wear a dental mask. That's why I've played 70 games of this game. Life sux !!!!!

The election is soon, I cannot give my opinion, because that's yet another rule I must follow.

So, I'm considering becoming a full-blown alcoholic. Do I start with Beer or go right to the hard stuff? Maybe cheap boxes of wine? Booze is so yesterday. Pill popping, there, that's the answer! Cannot smell it on my breathe and can always blame the prescribing doctor, just like Elvis!

I resigned from the game vs Fafnir (Axis), June 1940.

Mainly because of the situation described here. Don't want to play with such a handicap.

Will post some screenies later. GG to my opponent, his play is very sharp and uncompromised.

Better go with Commentator route. [:)]

Okay, decided not to become a closet alcoholic, too boring.

Instead, on a cold darky rainy night, bought an Extra Large Greek pizza, Mozzarella & white Cheddar cheese. Oven cooked in the round pan with olive oil. Put a little Cajun flavor on the crust. Added Black Olives on one half, Green Olives on the other. Crisp bacon & sausage throughout.

Tonight's movie will be "Split", never seen, recommended from a pal. Will be making Ice Cream sodas. Vanilla ice cream (the good stuff, never buy cheap if you can help it), Club Soda (Canada Dry, don't buy cheap), then add Hersey's Syrup (once again, only buy name brand). Might add some Rum.

I'd imagine there has been some truly amazing games in this tournament, with novel ideas and exploits. Any chance some has been recorded to youtube? Or can you recommend some youtube-channel where I can learn enough to rise from bottomfeeder to mediocre?Thats an idea for ElvisRambo; youtuber :) You can drink rum while streaming your games

I won't condemn valid and legal stratagems, though I've often been bested partly through their use on me.

That said, perhaps the minds on the forum could come up with a list of agreed-upon devices to avoid, sort of a Marquess of Queensbury rules for play.

e.g. 'No hitting below the belt'... No Barbarossa in 1940

etc.

Just a thought for how better players than me might still be able to enjoy the game

Here you go:
By Cpuncher
1. No diplo on Majors.
2. No diplo on Bulgaria (haven't tested if Allies can keep Bulgaria out of war until Mid 1941).
3. No DOW USSR until 1941.

I'd add to that no Japan invasion on India via DOW on Denmark/Other-not-India country.
I may be mistaken, but probably nearly all games in this tournament were played under these 3 above.

Nah, I ain't a drinker currently, recycled enough that sugar can stuff in my early days. There's time/place for everything though. When I drink, it's for uplifting moments and to get a chick primed.

This one does strike me as an exploit - it feels like the game is intended to have a significant penalty for Japan in these circumstances, but the relevant events haven't been coded to cover all bases.

On the whole I'd want to be cautious about making houserules 'official' for the tournament - there is a fine line between what's a part of the game and what's an exploit, and it's easy to overreact. But this one looks pretty clear-cut.

I think it is also unfair to place Allied seaunits on the hexes IT must use to ship through the canal with before IT joins the war. Obviously no blocade against IT was made historically.

Hello,
anybody in for a game ? With house rules applied (Japan dows Denmark too pls), I would pick Allies if you don't mind.

Preferably someone, who I didn't have privilege to play in this tournament. [:)]

ELO game has ended:

(Win) HamburgerMeat (Axis) defeated LoneRunner (Allies)

Summary: HamburgerMeat crushed China and Russia. Took Moscow in November 41 and Perm in April 42. The Russians spent more time running than fighting. Meanwhile, the Chinese were in full retreat to Urumchi at the end of the game.

Actually the game was fun, despite the spanking. HamburgerMeat is an excellent opponent. I learned a lot. Hopefully, I'll meet him across the board again.

If it's okay with HamburgerMeat, I do have a couple screenshots to share in an AAR discussion. The screenshots show the destruction of the central and southern Russian armies in June 41. I set up what I thought was a pretty okay defense and HamburgerMeat shredded it. Probably a good lesson for what not to do with the Russians.

I would like to play as Axis. This will be my first game. No new player in the SC series, I played only WiE for the last years... I will make many mistakes but will surely learn a lot!

New game started:
Taifun (Axis) vs Marcinos1985 (Allies). Standard house rules plus Denmark issue. The board seems huge but very crowded! I think this will be a very complicated game playing against such an experienced player!
