Jus a quick note... I didn't expected that Japan has so many divisions
But I forget that I'm playing Iron babes scenario, so in Australia I'm facing at least 9 divisions. Enemy landed at Port Augusta. I prepared there 2 US Regiments, one Australian, artillery and tank battalions. Base fallen in 3 days...
But enemy send more support to Australia soon. At PHI he have 3 more Divisions. Who knows what is wating for me at Sumatra or Java... Brr...

21st-28th March 1942
Burma
Japanese guard brigade captured Lashio. All forces move north except few base force that will join Allied troops in China.
Java
Bandoeng fights on. Dutch armored brigade from Batavia moved south and routed Japanese infantry battalion in Kalidjati. Dutch forces will continue their advance south.
Australia Command – North
Darwin air cover is depleted by constant sweeping attacks from Timor. Additional naval invasion allowed capture of Derby. Australian Cavalry Brigade is on the way to clear region.
Australia Command – West
Perth was partially evacuated. Two Japanese Divisions are storming city and after 3 day attack HQ expects that Perth will fall into enemy hands before end of the month. New Zealand armor battalion and Indian brigade were sent as reinforcements to Port Augusta. They diddn’t make on time.
Australia Command – East
Bowen is still holding. More enemy divisions landed. Base is besieged by 4 Japanese Divisions and artillery units. At least one more division surrounds countryside.
On 22th March 1942 Intelligence decrypted information that at least one Japanese unit was loaded on ship and it is moving towards Port Augusta. Japanese carrier group was detected few days earlier, but TF was moving suspiciously slow. Allied HQ expected that enemy will try to attack convoys unloading supplies in Adelaide. But when it didn’t happened all troops were put on alert. 2 US Brigades, artillery unit and tank Battalion from reserves were ordered to move to Port Augusta defended by single Australian Brigade. In Port Augusta heavy cruiser Astoria with escort of 3 DD’s was put on alert and sail away from port to hunt enemies carrier group.
All of this was futile.
On 24th March Astoria TF attacked Japanese convoys but it was destroyed by heavy Japanese naval task force. Even though two DD’s from supporting TF attacked carrier TF, enemy withdraw without scratch.
On the same day Port Augusta was invaded by two divisions.
Allied HQ moved all B-17’s bombers to support defense, but Carrier group providing air cover was hard as rock. Losses among 4E bombers were high and unfortunately enemy was not weakened enough.
On 27th March 1942 Port Augusta fallen and allied troops withdraw to the west (worst option).
Air battle was raging over Port Augusta. Japanese carrier fighter cover is depleted but also allied dive bombers and fighter squadrons.
If the enemy move south he will activate emergency reinforcements that will be used for counteroffensive in Burma. If he will move east there is not to enough land forces to hold him. Also if the Bowen fall Australia will be lost.
In New Zealand additional units are awaiting to move to Australia, but I afraid that they will meet returning carrier force. Or they will not return… Just resupply at newly captured Port Augusta.
Also convoy with planes, marines regiment, and US Army Division sailed away from San Francisco. Protected by US Navy Carriers. They must get to Australia.

29th March-1st April 1942
Australia Command East
Perth has fallen. All troops are retreating to Kalgoorie. Another convoy was intercepted by Japanese Carriers. This time with supplies and squadron of fighters
.
Australia Command Central
Enemy has withdraw all his naval assets from Port Augusta. Probably to the west (Perth Region). After successful sweeping mission against Port Augusta fighter cover, enemy withdraw his fighters also. Port Augusta port is damaged and B-17’s are closing airbase located in this base. Allied HQ will try to regroup land forces and prepare counterattack.
Naval TF will try to bombard enemy base to increase damage and disrupt Japanese fortification effort.
Australia Command North
Darwin CAP exist no more. Lack of supplies in Darwin makes reinforcing and upgrading squadrons impossible. HQ will try to create alternative route for planes to reinforce this position.
Australia Command East
Situation in Bowen is getting harder. Enemy superiority in numbers are to high to hold this base longer. Part of the units are being evacuated south to Brisbane.
Java
Burma
Summary
End of march means also end of Japanaese invasion bonus. Japan will pick their targets more carefully. Situtaion in Australia looks grim, but will do everything I can to hold it.
March brought heavy air losses for both side, but biggest losses were among allied transport ships and 4E Bombers. Many fighter squadrons were decimated. I hope for little more force conserving April.

On 6th April Bowen has fallen into enemy hands. In Brisbane most of lost units begins reconstruction. Counterattack to relief Bowen defenders is only 46 miles from base, but they will withdraw. Allied HQ decided about abandoning north and focusing in Brisbane area. Also 7th Armored Tank Brigade will move to support Port Augusta offensive.
Once again Japanese carrier was targeted by submarine and once again no hit. Enemy carrier group moves to New Caledonia. It is unknown what is IJN planing.
Java
Two additional Guard Divisions arrived to Java. Enemy has enough strength to finish conquest of island. Dutch brigade is on the way to Batavia. British Carrier Group will try to disrupt enemy supply chain near Java coast. One single day attack and retreat back to Colombo.

You are better off defending the mountain base on Java, it is hard for the Japanese to take.

7th-12th April 1942
After end of March Air Bloodbath and fall of Bowen, more peaceful times started. In Australia Allied troops are preparing to attack Port Augusta. In western region of Australia enemy is clearing coast before attack at Kalgoorlie.
Near Fiji Japan invaded little island between Fiji and New Caledonia – Anatom. Allied Destroyers Task Force prepared to attack Japanese invasion force, but just day before attack, Naval Search planes detected and identified Japanese carrier Soryu. Instead DD’s, 3 submarines were send to region and this time SS Sailfish didn’t fail. Two torpedoes hit. But only one hit visibly damaged carrier.
Also Japanese subs are not wasting their time. Near Melbourne I-169 attacked allied convoy and sink three ships in one day. It is clear that this sub captain will move fast to the top of Silent War Aces.
British carrier group moving along Java coast is having problem with ship detection, no enemy was found. One last chance for Royal Navy will be 13th April, when TF will move close to strait that divides Sumatra and Java.
On 13th April peace will end, because once again Japanese Carrier group was detected near southern Australia heading towards Port Augusta or Melbourne. Fighter squadrons are on full Alert.

Where were the escorts for those sunk ships? You need to protect those APs for when they upgrade since they will be the ships carrying your assault troops.

Those Japanese carrier raids made me to plan strange ad hoc routes for ships and created big fuel problem in Australia. This was one of those TF's that run away from enemy end used almost all it's fuel so I moved escort away. And to be honest I didn't expected sub in this place.

13th-19th April 1942
Australia Command
No good news. Evacuation of northern Australia goes as planned, but once again Carriers moved to Port Augusta and unloaded more troops there, creating risk, that future offensive in that region will be impossible.
At first day of operation (13th April) enemy lunched sweeping raids against main fighter base at Adelaide inflicting huge losses on Allied planes. Naval bombers counter attack brought only more losses to allied side.
Allied HQ decided that fighter sweeping counterattack will be prepared at all cost and after reducing Japanese CAP more naval bombers will be brought to action.
Unfortunately weather over Port Augusta was poor, so only on 17th April allied squadrons commenced sweeping mission. This time losses were almost equal. Over 25 Zero fighters were shot down at a cost 20 allied fighters mostly USMC Wildcats. Also B-17 bombers once again bombed air base at Port Augusta, dealing losses among planes on runway. Allied HQ knew that there is big risk of Japanese naval counterattack and bombing Adelaide, so they decided to withdraw squadrons to safer airfields.
This decision was lucky for allied pilots. On next day enemy had 110 Zero fighters over Port Augusta. But also luck smiled to bomber crews. This CAP was not able to intercept B-17s raid so once again bombers bombed airbase almost without losses and destroyed few Nell naval bombers.
On 19th April enemy tried sweeping mission over Melbourne. There was almost no CAP, but Allied naval fleet is present at this port. If enemy decide to attack, he will have to move away from Port Augusta. Allied naval bombers are on alert, so they will try to counter this kind of action, and stronger CAP was prepared over Melbourne.
In worst case scenario enemy will not try to sweep and will put all of his fighters to CAP, then naval bombers attack will be decimated.
Java
British carriers attacked three different transport Task Forces. One attack met CAP and returend to carriers with big losses and without hit. Other attacks went smoothly and 4 small transport ships were sunk.
Fiji
Bomber raids against new bases between Fiji and New Caledonia brought more losses to Japan. One transport ship was sunk and other is heavy damaged.
Burma
Almost lack of activity, small pace of conquest brings one important question. Did Australia invasion took all resources available to IJA in Burma. Maybe it will be best option to prepare counterattack and ease pressure that is put on Australia?

You need to list all of the "free" Japanese divisions and other important units, then see how many PPs he would have to buy any out from restriction, then list where each of those units are on the map. That might tell you what he has yet to show you.

Without tools I would be blind... But I prepared this little report about positions of enemy Divisions and regiments. I’m checking bigger units only.
As we can see Japan keeps in Burma region something around 3 Divisions wit additional regiment sized RTA Divisions. But I lost 2nd Division from my sight. It might be the force that landed at Port Augusta or it might go to Burma. They also might be used to finish off Java defenders...

After fierce air battles of last days 21st and 22th April were more peaceful. Enemy withdraw Carrier TF from attack position near Melbourne and decided not to attack port with strong CAP.
I’m toying with idea to attack IJN at Port Augusta with my surface fleets. Japanese carriers are protected by 2 surface TFs and strong escort with battleship. Allies have at Melbourne 3 light cruisers and 16 DD’s. In few days 2 heavy cruisers will be available after refit.
I’m not sure that even with full speed I will be able to get there in one day and risk might bring big losess without any gain.

23th-30th April 1942
Australia Command
Almost all Northern Forces are safely evacuated to Southern Australia. Enemy captured Townsville and he is trying to capture Charters Tower where Australian troops put some good fight.
Japanese paratroopers landed at Cloncurry but they were repulsed by local garrison.
Also enemy landed at Horn Island protecting Torres Strait but were massacred by Australian and Dutch defenders.
Lots of losses in air battle over Melbourne. On 29th April enemy sweep once again CAP over this important port and shot down almost 40 planes. Japanese losses were equally high.
Japanese Carrier force once again is trying to attack Melbourne port. Allied surface fleets will try to intercept them.
Allied soldiers recaptured Derby in North Australia. Next target – Broome.
Java
Northern Java is fighting. Enemy is not strong enough there. Yet.
Luzon
On 29th April 1942 last US forces surrendered on Luzon. Enemy finished campaign there and so two more divisions are ready to move to Australia.
Burma[
Commonwealth forces with Dutch and US help are preparing defensive positions.
Fiji
Japan is building up their forces at ring of island east from New Caledonia. US bombers are trying to slow down enemy but it is almost impossible with lack of planes.
US Navy raided one of this ports. 3 enemy sub chasers were sunk. No US losses.
End of month summary
April was continuation of March. Northern Australia has fallen and unfortunately at Port Augusta I didn’t managed to get air superiority. Lack of airframes is big problem for me and I don’t know how long I will be able to hold against enemy.
Air War Aces
Unfortunately allied top ace was shoot down over Melbourne.
It was also total surprise to see 2LT Berg on the list. He is flying B-17 Bomber.
Surface War
Silent War
Three new subs on Top 10 list. I-169 massacred convoy near Melbourne and got first place with highest tonnage sunk.
1. I-169 18080t 3 ships new
2. I-162 14735t 3 ships down
3. I-153 11970t 4 ships down
4. I-156 10290t 3 ships down
5. Seadragon 9105t 2 ships down
6. I-1 8390t 2 ships new
7. I-124 8370t 2 ships down
8. I-17 8290t 3 ships down
9. I-18 8150 1 ship down
10. I-30 7150t 1 ship new

Maybe put something small but enticing in Clare between Adelaide and Port Augusta. See if he takes the bait . . . [:'(]
Some air unit fragments with old planes might work, you don't want to lose a full air unit . . .

I'm moving NZ small unit... Just in range of well known line:) There is no base between Adelaide and Port Augusta.
Btw it's funny that almost all Australia is in Japanese hands, but there is no reaction. Only when they move south of Brisbane people will notice that someone invaded Australia

That is interesting because my map has Clare which is two hexes away from both, right on the rail line. If is an AF base, no port at all since it is an inland base.

Has to be a masochist playing an Ironman scenario against a human opponent.
Must not realize the Japs are already overpowered enough in stock.

There is true in Your words
But I have lots of fun in this game. I'm usually playing as Japan and I'm used to fighting lost war in 1943-1945
