T79 3/1/41 The UK forces are now advancing to take Tobruk and go all the way to Tripoli and engage the Afrika Korps that will enter once Tobruk is no longer Axis.

Up to now I have been eliminating the scouts and efforts by Italian units to get to Suez.

T82 3/22/41 This is the start of the first battle for the DAK. While there are some Italian units visible to help, the Axis bot is outnumbered by the Allies. We shall see what the Bot does next... Most of the Allied units are not visible in this view.

T82 3/22/41 This view shows the Axis attack. The panzers thrust deep into the British line which turns out to be more than they can accomplish.

T82 2/22/41 This view shows the 21st panzer was wiped out by the UK attacks and the 15th has very little left. The British forces clearly will overpower the DAK on this first battle.

T84 4/5/41 This view shows Axis troops that can move east to clash with the Brits. In addition, as shown the Axis will be replacing most or all of their losses within 3 turns. They all appear near Tripoli. Any British losses and new units will have to arrive at suez.

I think the Axis Bot can make a fight of it right here for some time. I may even have to fall back to Tobruk.

T85 4/12/41 This view shows the Allies pushing forward. However, I will try to consolidate here.

If I push too close to Tripoli the Axis Bot will call on Vichy to open their borders and allow the Axis in North Afrika to enter Tunisia. The large forbidden zone there was done to keep the Axis units near Tripoli. I had to make it wide to make sure units reconstituted stay on the Tripoli side and keep fighting. Then I noticed in testing the Axis forces in North Afrika panic and try to flee against the forbidden zone to enter Tunisia and get stuck there. Then they are easily eliminated when pinned against the wide forbidden zone.

To solve this I came up with an open border for Vichy to assist their allies. With this I then had to place the German Tunisia Panzer Army Afrika units to secure Tunis and Bizerte. Since they may arrive early they must arrive empty of any equipment. That way there is no imbalance in equipment and they will have to wait for Tigers, etc.

In practice this system works well whenever Vichy helps their Allies. So the Allies are advised not to try to win the Afrika war in 1940 or 1941. It may not go well for them if they force the Axis to mobilize early to stop them.

T86 4/19/41 Here is a view of the Bot trying to find a way through the allied line formed to refresh for the offensive to take Tripoli and then Tunisia. The Axis forces will move throughout Afrika if not contained. They never stop trying to reach their objective of the Suez Canal.

T87 4/26/41 Here is a view of the rapid Axis build up in Libya. The Axis reconstituted units are circled in blue for the next 2 turns. Except for the one assault gun unit in green, they will all appear in Tripoli. There are many eliminated Italian units that can't replace right now due to heavy losses.

I have not tried to invade Tunisia this early and incur the wrath of Axis troops arriving early along with fighting Vichy units early.

T87 4/26/41 Here is the big picture view of Vichy in North Afrika. The Allies need to take Algiers to get Vichy to surrender, which is circled in blue. That is a long way. The Axis air and naval control the Mediterranean at this time. The Allied forces would need to advance only on the ground. Supply would not be a problem due to many ports along the way but the reconstituted troops would need to march, not sail, from Suez!

T94 6/14/41 On the eve of Barbarossa the UK attacks in Libya. The Germans lost the 21st Panaer.

I am keeping a very tidy front since the Axis Bot tries to bypass your main units and cut you off from supply. Once that happened and I could not get supply back. I struggled all the way back to Alamein due to small Italian units everywhere in my rear that were usually invisible until I ran into them.

T94 6/14/41 AGS Note some of AGC forces are here in the South and many in Rumania because the Axis Bot does as it pleases. Many of these units have been to Poland and western Europe before being sent east.

T98 7/12/41 This view shows the Norway units are late for the party. They must march to Murmansk and then to Leningrad. They eventually will cause trouble.
