Andy, your AI script splits the KB into mini-KBs and one mini-KB parks itself in early January 1942 in Merak (base id 1156)

This creates two problems:

a) it breaks immersion - a CV TF sits in Sunda Strait, I don't think RL commanders would have done so.
b) since Merak is a base hex, the Air Combat TF (mini-KB) will suffer penalties as per manual 7.2.1.13.2 AIRCRAFT CARRIERS IN BASE HEXES (page 167)

You can still block Allied shipping thorugh Merak by parking the mini-KB two or three hexes away from Merak or Java in the Java Sea.
Air operations from CVEs are not impacted in a base hex.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o

Scen 001, beta patch 1

This BF is suspect too. Probably, the BF has devices in wrong slots in the Editor. The BF has 8 eng vehicles on hand. No wonder Jap players do not like sieging Singapore - the Allies seem to have a bonus equivalent of 100 eng squads in Malayas, derived from BF bonus eng vehicles. Those Allied fort levels just keep getting higher and higher.

BTW, bonus eng vehicles also create problems for Jap AI. Allied human player not only can ship as many LCUs as possible to Singapore, but in addition those LCUs will sit behind higher forts in Singapore

Updated scen001v5

DAMN! I have only noticed this today.

AndyMac added several small new bases in China, Burma, and Australia. It seems ALL new bases in China have SPS 0(0) for airfields, thus severely lengthening their development times and supply expenditure needed for bases construction! This creates two additional problems for Allied player:

1) it makes harder to up supply caps at those bases by building up airfields. The only way to up the supply cap is to build forts. Thus, instead reaching a 1000 supply cap you will reach i.e. a 500 supply cap

2) it makes defense of Chungking and Sian areas more difficult for the Chinese, since most of the new bases are in their vicinity. Approaches to Sian are clogged with those new 0(0) bases, which can hold just 5000 supplies. Defending those bases in force will result in supply spoilage if you go beyond 5000 supplies. Also, there is no time to develop airfield there to level 3, so a base can hold 20,000 supplies so it can give daily replacemnts to corps in Rest stance.

Basically, all those new Chinese bases should have SPS airfield of 0(1), so the Chinese at least have a chance to build those bases up before Japanese arrive there. SPS 0(0) in China seems to be an oversight since new bases in Burma and Australia have positive SPS airfield values in range of 0(1) to 0(6).

EDIT: It seems all new bases in Malayas also have SPS 0(0) for airfields.

IIRC the intent with those 0 bases is to provide a 'path' to the AI. I am unsure exactly how, but it is supposed to help the AI to evaluate which way to attack.

That is obviously not the case for the bases in the Outback, unsure if those are to help the Allied player to retake Port Moresby or just a personal project of one of the testers ('realism').

Yes, the new bases are to help AI execute its new scripts.

Every Chinese base that shipped with the game in 2009 has a POSITIVE SPS for airfields. The big bases in Clear terrain average SPS 5-7 for airfields, while the string of bases in Mountain terrain around Kunming has SPS of 2-3 for airfields. Thus, the new bases should probably get the SPS of 2-3 too.

Basically, AndyMac forgot to input the SPS data.

EDIT: I have also loaded AndyMac's scen007v12. Same story - the new Chinese bases in the scenario have SPS 0(0) for arfields.

Temuloh has no supply caps added, unlike other bases in Malaya.
