Burma: Not a good night for Allied air forces over Burma… though daylight would be much worse. The bombing raids are not producing much damage but they still draw the attention of 200 IJA fighters which are not being employed elsewhere.
Detected status of Jap base in Rangoon from aerial recon (after raids below) – no Japanese ships anchored in port, 2 Jap TF in harbor (-1 from last report), 85 aircraft (all fighters), airfield damage 6, 9 Jap LCU’s, light industry 5(36).
USAAF and RAF bombers launch night raid on Rangoon airfield.
