Allies are in good position to hit all these troops moving, except for the Guam force.

No ships sunk, three IJN ships hit, cargo ships by P40e and a torpedo from a sub, and a Wirraway hit one at Kuching.

EDIT: my game is Dababes, in which refineries don't generate supply... so you might need less, but still 200K or 300K is little #s for the Allies, even in early war
Supply production does not matter here. Refineries dry down very quickly when enemy is in Palembang hex, burning down oil stocks in a matter of days. Yet Festung Palembang is nothing to scoff at surely. One of the main reasons for Japan to bring at least some carrier force in the DEI ASAP is to prevent this large scale reinforcement.

Having KB away from action for so long is a grave mistake in the first couple months. It keeps Allies from moving around and consolidating somewhere in one of the sensitive spots. It should be running around acting as a hammer, not as a raider or ambusher

Maybe he is doing this game to see how he should play as Allies? [&:]

I am thinking about heavily reinforcing Singapore with the Palembang forces.

But to be truthful, this isn't really how you should play as the Allies. [:)]

+1

But it probably would drive a Japanese player to distraction and into making mistakes. [:D]

Sending in Mauritius and some destroyers to nail unloading IJN ships...

Still bombing Miri with no opposition, might as well continue....

Testing the DLs for the next phase after Marcus Island invasion...

Sending Big E and Lady Lex to get system damage repaired from flank speed two day run...Saratoga assumes all front line responsibilities.

Warspite will meet up the Hong Kong RN Desron, I will beef them up with some decent US destroyers. Will hold them off Marcus Island....looking to ambush a counter invasion there or at Wake. Probably give them 2-3 more Desrons and attack in echelon to steal a Jorge term.[;)] Should have plenty of time at Wake, no one day invasion will take that base even with the vaunted Japanese Amphibious bonus.

Houston is at Darwin...

Boise is headed for Seattle to repair system damage from flank speed run...

Cats are flying out of Marcus...giving the Allies hopefully some solid intel.

One of my favorite British Light Cruisers:

Who can name her? No particular reason why I would put her up, not like she is going to be involved in anything.

Could that (gasp) be the Mauritius?

The funnels appear different than the Town class.

It has 50 points of deck armor, which makes it (with some luck) capable to surviving 250kg bombs

That ship is a hidden gem in the early Allied inventory. Rapid-fire guns, good crew experience, and if you lose it.....hey, it has an early withdrawl date anyway![:D]

I am literally watching a combat resolution right now where she is just wasting an invasion convoy

It must be terrible for those Japanese soldiers, expecting a pleasure cruise when the British, Dutch, and Australians crash the party. [&o]

Congrats!
with this defeat, he will have to delay for at least for a couple weeks; you can now guarantee total control of Palembang's approaches until sometime in late January

big mistake for Japan... it is late December, and not even the mini KB in support of critical operations!

That could be the part of the "adventurous opening" some recent IJ players are thinking of but not thinking through. Charging off in a deep thrust on turn one means the critical first targets are not covered well enough. Lowpe seems to have seen these weaknesses coming from the pre-game discussions about how far the magic move TFs could go. The value of having played the IJ side for years is showing in his play as Allies now.

OK, but this goes way beyond that, where the hell is the Japanese navy? The world really does wonder.
