Hi all,

RGR!

BTW, I must tell you that my wife loves Swedish crime series - latest that we watch is "The Sandhamn murders"... [8D]

Do you go there yourself sometimes? How is the weather there in the summer? Enough warm to swim?

Leo "Apollo11"
No, I never been to Sandhamn. Although I've been to the Stockholm's outer archipelago a few times. But then it has been further north. Sndhamn haven't really had any appeal to me. It has a reputation as a expensive party place during the summer. Although I suspect that if I had a boat vacation in the archipelago a stop there would be included.

If it is warm enough to swim probably depends on ones swimming water temperature preference. I suspect that there are few days in the summer that the water temperature exceeds 15 degrees Celsius around Sandham. Although the temperature to be somewhat warmer in some bays were the water doesn't circulate as much.

Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if the water temperature there is a lot colder than 15 degrees for much of the summer.
So much for Swedish movies that show people frolicking in the water wearing bathing suits. [:D]
Well, Sandhamn is more of an after-sailing kind of place. Where they go to re-supply and to party. When they want to have a nice swim they tend to take their boat and sail into the archipelago to find a secluded cove or a official bathing place and take a swim there instead.

Besides, many Swedes are starved for the sun so that they just sunbathe. And take an occasional quick dip into the water for the cooling effect.

The frolicking in the water is much more common in the Swedish lakes than in the ocean. And there are plenty of lakes. Although, I suspect, that nowdays the most of the water frolicking are made in public pools.

No. I am not ill. [:)] Early weekend mornings are the best time of the week. All is calm and quiet. And you get lots of things done before everyone else is up.

All right. I prefer the middle of the night for that, once everyone is asleep.[:)]
