The 253rd and 129th Inf Div's think they can destroy the remnants of that Soviet armour unit by a combined flanking attack.

Oh yeah, I forgot to adhere to my checklist for turns and rounds.

For those of you who don't know the checklist is this:

1. Disembark all rail embarked units.
2. Rest tired aircraft and assign missions prn
( prn = medical term meaning 'as neccessary' ).
3. Repair the rails w/ Bautrupp units.
4. move reinforcements to the field.
5. move engineers to supporting places prn.
6. move the land combat units to their necessary places
7. move supporting arty prn.
8. move the separate HQ units prn.
9. execute combat.
10. goto step 2 ( skip steps 3 and 4 if round not equal to 1 )

So um.....I repaired the rails and moved the reinforcements, so here's the aircraft missions for the Axis aircraft for round 1 so far:

Wow, all those air units on combat support, yet they are all in green.  Do you directly assign them to attacks, or do you let them support a bunch of attacks?  I let some of my air units on combat support in the DnO scenario, and the air units exhausted themselves in the firt turn.  If you let them support all kinds of attacks, it would seem you would have more resting.

Thanks,

So um......I tend to try to assign squadrons to individual combats. I have found that putting them on CS missions and NOT assigning them to individual combats means that they fly more than once per round. Thus exhausting them faster. So if they fly only once ( in a dedicated combat ) they tend to stay in the green longer in a turn.

Assigning them to individual combats means they participate only in that ground combat and use their full strength. CS missions mean they support every ground combat in their range at 1/2 strength.

Thanks, I should have stipulated that. If they fly to support every ground combat and there are 60+ combats they could go from green to cherry red in just one round. And then I'd have to put them on 'rest' status for the rest of the turn. And yes, I did have one round where there were 62 assaults once. But that was in my other AAR, the one where I'm playing buzzardb and I'm the Soviets.

The 15th Inf Div has decided to attack a Soviet division.

Doesn´t it s**ks when a division just decides to attack instead of following orders?

Sometimes these divisions have minds of their own.
