Since Nomad brought me into the Forum, I wanted to share that I am doing a little clean-up of the Mod. Playing with Lew thru March 42 currently has made me notice a couple of things. DITTO for Sean and I's match. Just crossed into May 1944 and have found a couple of ship upgrade issues that need some cleaning.

I take it you noticed this:

The Omaha CL to CLAA conversion is missing. Both ship class 408 and 926 are checked off as covert to class. 408 should be checked as covert from class.

Both BTS-H and BTS-L are wrong.

I swear I looked at this when we were doing our checking, but either it got missed or changed, doesn't really matter, it just needs to be fixed.

Was unaware of that. Will tackle it with the update.

Thanks for the comment. Anything else?

Not so far, we are only on turn 3 at this time. I am sure I will find more later.

Per Jeffrey Cox's trilogy (book 3, page 88), would you want the two B-26 Marauder Squadrons (69th & 70th) to be able carry torpedoes?

Observation - Why did those dumb ass American admirals put the brand new Fletcher at end of the column?!?

Michael's idea of allowing two US Army Squadrons to have a TT carrying B-26 is fascinating. My initial thoughts are to allow for the two Squadrons in a B-26 variant that carries TT. The squadrons would come into the game with just a few planes and the variant would be produced at like 2 planes per month to allow a slow fillout and then use of the two units.

Other thoughts:
1. With our changed timeline, I am going to restore the old Japanese DDs of the Momi-Class and such back to their original build. The Japanese converted a bunch of them into existing game start Patrol Boats and depot ships. We'll let them be DDs with a wealth of conversion opportunities at game start. Want to keep them as the equivalent of American Four-Pipers? Fine. Want to make them early ASW platforms? Fine. Want them as APDs? Fine. Let the player decide.

2. Am going to re-arrange the Dutch starting TFs and allow the LBC Hertog Hendrick to be added to the Dutch OOB. The 1047 Project is started before war breaks out, the ship is towed to Great Britain, it is fitted out and ends up in Java. How about a real Dutch Flagship? LIKE IT!

Because the dumb ass American admirals probably did not know enough about radar unlike Ching Lee, plus the brand new Fletcher probably had an inexperienced crew which the Admirals would have been aware of.

Just think if the DD Blue would have noticed a few enemy ships in August 1942 when it had picket duty.

We'll build just 4/Month and allow the build out to June 1945. Two Squadrons will be allowed this aircraft and we'll stick to the 69th and 70th (16 Planes each). This will allow the Allied player to have some toys but not too many.

They are, as in RL, two of three squadrons from the 38th Bombardment Group arriving in May 1942 with 5 and 4 planes respectively.

CA Tone Class- reduce number of FP, move a turret to rear? We've already added small 12 FP ships (CS) to OOB.

OK. Work that has been done:

1. Converted the 69th and 70th Squadrons of the 38th Bombardment Group to a TT carrying B-26. Set-up slow trickle of reinforcements for use throughout the war starting in late-May 42.

2. Have gone thru all the OLD Japanese DDs of the Momo--thru--Wakatake-Clas 2nd rate DDs. If they were converted to PG/PB they are now back to original configuration and the Japanese player may decide to keep them that way, convert them to APD--ASW--Etc... Some were not represented within AE so they have been added. Any ADDED are placed at Tokyo, Yokohoma or Hiroshima.

3. HOPEFULLY fixed the Omaha-Class CL conversion.

4. Am working on the addition of the Dutch BC Hertog Hendrick. Have asked Big B if he has this ship class done in AE terms so I don't have to reinvent the wheel by guessing.

5. A redeployment of the Dutch Fleet around the new BC provides for CLs and a DD screen.

I wish I had seen this earlier, but is there a reason why the USN DDs have their ASW capabilities nerfed? In some cases the number of ASW weapons are reduced and
all most all cases their ammo is reduced, most times cut in half.

This is my edit:

I looked and it appears that this is what DBB did. I did not realize that DBB had done this nerfing of USN DDs.

Just got home after a four day trip to the cabin. My eldest has deer tags so we are hunting on-and-off from Yesterday until next Sunday.

Will write t everyone's queries in the morning after some serious sleep. Our 4 hour drive became 5.5 hours due to some SERIOUS snow in Wyoming. YIKES! Good news it the snow might truly help deal with our northern parts of the state burning up from forest fires.

IN RA the Hiryu's first upgrade is missing ammo on one of its 25mm guns. you prob fixed the initial missing ammo, but missed the upgrades. also the 3rd Agano class CL has a 6 inch gun turret that is RS instead of rear facing. Some of the later shokaku Kai upgrades in RA also have blank or missing AA guns.

I have not looked in RA in FOREVER!

Now that we have BTSL and BTSH re-tooled, it might be a great project to return to the first Mod and get RA up to speed and fully updated.
