Using KB to hit LI/Res is not optimum. Best to sink ships in port if you can surprise the port.

Great use in Australia, as it farms VPs![:)]

Probably should have been a little higher where the AA isn't so fierce. 9K to 13K is usually the sweet spot.

Need recon, trained pilots, decent weather.

Thanks Rusty. I was really hitting ports pretty hard for months and now most naval units are a long way away and under very heavy cap.

Thanks Lowpe. I failed to train my naval bombers in ground attack so i am doing that now while most CVs are upgrading. I had been using recon judy's on my carriers for recon so detection was high. I'll try that altitude.

Even without training they can still get some hits and will improve their skills. Better to use them when and where the enemy is not defending than waiting to train.

Don't forget to train lots of pilots on Low Naval to attack is transports and cargo vessels with man guided weapons.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

Did you even notice that they were bombing in "Severe Storms"? That had to be at least half the problem.

Just a quick update to say that we are still plugging along.

It's now almost a year since my last post and the game has advanced 4 months.

My opponents are young and have busy lives and i was pretty ill for a while so turns slowed.

October 15, 1943 sitrep.

Japans owns:
china -except for Chungking (i never figured out how)
Burma -(Prome to Mandalay to Lashio
Indonesia - all
New Guinea -all
Noumea east to Savaii
Savaii north to the Aluetians except for a stranded invasion at Aorae

Port Blair is about to fall to the allies in the Indian Ocean
Norfolk Island off new zealand is threatened with invasion by the allies

I've lost a lot of planes and ships but only 1CV.

Is your game continuing?
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

Yes, this game is continuing. I was playing 2 PBEM at the same time and they were very close in terms of territories, ships, planes and even game time for a while. A little difficult at times for an old man. My other game moved much faster.

Port Blair has now fallen. My troops haven't surrendered yet but they will.

He brought 5CVs and 2 CVLs to cover. My CVs were on the other side of the earth.

I did send a lot of Nells with and without escorts and managed to sink 3 or 4 cruisers among other ships with a lot of losses of Nells.
