I often find I forget to change units status from "refit" to "ready" when attacking. Is there any disadvantage to have units set as "refit" in combat?
Refit status determines the priority receipt of refills. But it doesn't work if the unit is in contact with the enemy. Therefore, there is no problem with that.
Sorry, i use an online translator :(

I don't know if it changed in later patches, but in 1.00.11, REFIT works even if in direct contact with an enemy unit. (Yes I know it says in the manual that it doesn't.)

In any case, REFIT status has no effect on combat ability or anything else other than prioritizing it for replacements and supply during the logistics phase.

What is the strategy for putting aa units in cities like riga and lvov to protect the railyards and depots? Its worth it?

Also...for lvl 2 railyards...do they need to be connected go the repaired grid before i can use their trains?

Hey guys! Looking for some quick tips for the Destruction of the Southwestern Front as the Axis!

Anything you have to help is welcome!

Not a whole lot of material online for this game. Surprising to me given how well the game is made!

I took Rovno with my Panzer divisions on the first turn, but they can't seem to progress very far towards Kiev on the second turn. I've done my best to move my infantry up and make sure the salient is secure, and unable to have supply lines cut off.

Does anybody know why I cant select Odessa (or anywhere else outside the Baltic/North Sea) for Naval Ops?

I have KG54 at Kishinev and KG3 at Husi. Both in IV Fliegerkorps, in supply, July 1941. I can set them to Kiel, but not a port ten hexes away.

(BTW I know Flieger Fuhrer Ostsee are better at interdicting ports but they are currently turning Tallinn into a non-Dunkirk).

I'm playing the 1941-1945 campaign.

TallBlondJohn - the list scrolls. It is not very evident that it scrolls but it does have a scroll bar hidden on the right side of the list.

You have got to be kidding - no. Oh well, that means roll back a turn or two. The scroll bar only appears if you go looking for it.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

when creating a new unit as the Soviets, is there a way to rename it at will or the game will select from a list of pre-determined names?

Bump, anyone???
ORIGINAL: Hardradi

I was testing out bombing railways and noticed a discrepancy between the results on the Air Execution Phase Summary screen and the on map battle results. They are consistently different by a factor of around 4. I am not sure why this would be, also I cannae see a reference to it in the manual. Is this something to do with the rail interdiction lasting more than one turn (I think it might be 4 or 5)?

Also does anyone know how these numbers correlate?

I thought you would divide the 656 by 10 and get 65 (rounding down).

Is there any map mode ingame for the historical front lines on a turn by turn basis? I could have swore there was something like that in the game.

When do pilots, and by association their air unit get allocated fatigue?

Been playing with the Axis Air War on T1 and fatigue = 0.
Molotov : This we did not deserve.

Foch : This is not peace. This is a 20 year armistice.

No front line as such, but you can toggle city capture dates on/off from Map Info tab. They only show on closest zoom level.

In the posts "Planning map and history" above at design and modding you have some historical frontlines. I have most of them. But as said not ingame,. In WitE-1 it was possible to compare with history all the time.

Is there any reason or logic why Russian reinforcements have TOE's that include equipment that is not yet in production? Russian tank battalions wait forever for the T-60's that are not yet being produced and won't exchange for tanks that are available in the pools. Yes they are not much but something is better than nothing. Or were the Russians sending tank battalions into battle with a few T-34's and nothing else?
