Hope to finish the turn tonight/tomorrow and get back rolling now that the Allies are finished sunbathing and sipping slingers.

Allied have the turn...and they have asked the following:

1. Do we allow any Allied units in The USSR?

2. Do Soviet units need to be bought to cross to Japanese held China? Or IJA units under China Expeditionary Army [R] command need to be bought to cross into the USSR?

Any input...I am pretty clueless here.

1) I would say, no. Let us face it, I doubt the USSR would have ever allowed foreign troops on their territories. Yes I know, history reasons, but I think it would make sense not to allow it.

2) Don't know what would be better here :)

In my turn, I pretty much put a lot of troops onto to railroad cars, moved my air force back and forward, set up float planes to fly night CAP and fighters for daytime CAP trying to get coverage of my industry.

Ships are panic disbanded into ports or heading for the nearest ports.

Shokaku and Zuikaku set up to protect Hokkaido from a sheltered position.

Expanded fighter production. Started building forts. Turned on replacements and upgrades.

I feel the supply burn already.

1. Russia shouldn't allow entry by foreign troops or war machines early in the new war. If Russia gets in trouble this should be revisited (as would happen in real life).

2. I don't think either should require PP payments.

Ok, I think we are going to say no Allied basing in Soviet bases and vice versa with the option of revisiting this for game balance etc.

No PP cost for China/Manchuko/Soviet movements.

Sounds about right although I am buying out any IJA China units regardless of where they go on the board. Manchuko into Soviet territory and vice versa for the Soviets is fair otherwise both sides are going to run out of PPs far to quickly to make it worthwhile.

I don't plan on really moving anything back from China...but maybe I will have to?

Heard from the Allies their turn might be done today, which is smoking fast imho. Probably take me 3 days to do my turn.

But let us not forget that last turn I sank two Brooklyns![;)]

Nah, rather the Emperor is in a fetal position in the corner sobbing. Ooops, is in a meditation pose contemplating the meaning life and practicing his brush strokes.

Just follow the game model - how likely is he to be able to even get LCUs to Soviet territory? That's the only one that would matter as non-Soviet air groups can't be based at any base that has the Soviet country code.

There is one exception to this: emergency landings from distressed CVs.

I don't think Stalin would think twice about entering China. Especially with the Communist vs. Nationalist Chinese Civil War that was going on, it would be a problem for him to come in on the side of "his" Chinese.

That would make for an interesting development for WITP3... separate the Chinese into Nationalist and Communist forces.

A look at land combat reinforcements for the Soviet front. Pretty grim.

At 50 PP a day, I suspect I will have to spend all of those points on trying to contain the Soviets until better air frames come along.

Soviets might be in trouble supply side...as they start with large stockpiles, but the on map production will be vulnerable and off map generation is around 4000 I think. It might take a few years but I think they will have shortages.

I did not touch my plane r&d with the last turn, but I guess I will need to make wholesale changes I fear.

Can't hit much. All those lovely P38s on the ground...over 60 fighters. Port full of nice ships to hit.

It is a tough war.[;)]

After fighting her way thru to Singers, the bombardment does well, and I think avoids mines.

However, the Lightnings are gone...which means most likely an aggressive sweep on Palembang followed by 4E bombers flying low. Maybe the AA there will fire today...
