Don't know if you've considered it, but if you hold any base with AF >1 in range of your northern Oz troops but lack air support, you can still fly in fighters and LRCAP your troops against his bombers for one turn, just to sting his bombers. Fly out again next turn and accept that a couple of fighters might remain behind with damage/unserviceability (which sometimes gets fixed without air support). The losses to his bombers should more than equal your fighter losses.

I've got two P-38 groups at Tennant Creek, but I've decided to use them in the sweep role because the LRCAP role is just too far from there. The closer bases are all in the red so I figure planes might not even fly missions.

One group is P-38E flown in from Melbourne, they failed to sweep the enemy LCU's near Wyndham yesterday; the other is P-38F and just upgraded at Tennant Creek a few days ago. It will be some time before that second group has enough aircraft on the line to do anything. The first group has been re-tasked to sweep Fenton where more of the Imperial CAP seems to be most recently.

The greatest danger is the Empire sweeping westward with its armoured spearhead. I'm sure he wishes to cut off the mountain redoubt from getting enough reinforcements to hold on as it did in last game. There are a number of units I could have moving to protect the Chungking plain which I am instead sending to the passes to the west.

Still quietly lurking. Cheers.

The spearhead to Chungking is also motivated to capture Chungking and prevent all reinforcements from arriving - no ?

Or at least for for most the game - when and if they flood back - they will be so weak and deficient in equipment - as to be useless.

Your Chinese divisions last game were so numerous at end game they made a huge dent. You never lost Chungking if I recall correctly.

Is you training / build up of Chinese troops in India going to be sufficient to force through to the plain ?

Hey, thanks![&o] The article from laststandzombieisland is fascinating!

Have to be honest, I cannot find my Uboats for the Indian Ocean anywhere in the OB, though.[&:]

There, she took part in the search for German submarine U-181, a Type IXD2 U-boat hunting in the Indian Ocean.

I did lose Chungking but got it back, then came the flood of zombie unit arrivals! Preventing as many of my units as possible from digging in within the mountains is a worthy goal.

I assume the Chinese Army units alone will not be able to force the issue in Burma, but I think they will tally something like 3,000 AV when filled out so they should make a major difference.
