They are rolling crushing all opposition in open terrain you need a well dug in Division massive airpower edge or forts to stop tanks in open country.

If I can take Darwin quickly this will be a good start to the 4th 6 month period.

p.s. my plan is nearly set I am just waiting for the last few elements of the OOB to arrive

7th Fleet will be leading the assault with a number of carriers I will outline my fleet composition when I am finally ready

The plan will involve 20+ Carriers, 10= BB's, 50+ Cruisers, (Only 70 Destroyers I am light on DD's which is a worry for subs), 30 subs, and 300 transports with 7 - 8 Divs assault loaded.....

Andy,

I´ve got a little discussion with PzB about flak effect in his AAR as we noticed heavy flak losses when he bombed Comilla at 23000ft which is more than surprising to me as I had dozens of attacks in my PBEM against bases with 150 3.7 inch flak at 11000ft and the enemy had a 2% loss rate on average. May I ask how many heavy flak guns you´ve got at Comilla (the medium/small ones can´t reach that alt anyway)? I won´t give the exact numbers to PzB, we´re just curious how it can be so different to the results in my PBEM.

I try to never use a base for 4E bombers unless its well protected and it must have forts to protect the AA guns if its in the open - open ground unfortified AA gun = bad idea especially if they are in base forces.....

My plan is progressing I estimate 10 - 15 days before I will be ready I am just drawing some veteran pilots out of training command to give my Carrier Sqns the killer edge.

I will need to organise 7th Fleet very carefully as its probably going to be outnumbered.

10 Fleet Carriers (7 USN 630 aircraft, 3 RN 165 aircraft)
4 Light Carriers (120 Aircraft)
12 Escort Carriers (360 Aircraft)

Total just under 1200 aircraft.

The fleet is assembling well back from the front but my main concern is provinding allied level escorts %'s for my TF's

TF7.1 - 2 x Fleet, x 1 Light Carrier
TF7.2 - 2 x Fleet, x 1 Light Carrier
TF7.3 - 2 x Fleet, x 1 Light Carrier
TF7.4 - 1 x US Fleet and 3 RN Fleet Carrier
TF7.5 - 4 Escort Carrier
TF7.6 - 4 Escort Carriers
TF7.7 - 4 Escort Carriers (Replenishment)
3 x Assault Convoys
2 x Troop Convoys
2 x Supply Convoys
24 x Sub TF's
2 x Fuel Convoys

other than the reason of having a higher chance to see "coordinated carrier strikes" is there a reason to have that many carrier TFs? With the great new feature of having the possibility to attack ships from several TFs in a hex with one strike it won´t matter much to spread out the carriers (other than the ac number and coordination die roll).

Pretty sure it's just a typo, but you are planning to have boots on ground on 15th October 1943 yes?
