Some quiet turns. Still not feeling well so just a short update from my phone.

------------------------
NORPAC
------------------------

I tried to ambush a Japanese convoy at Anette Island but they left before I could move my planes in. Jeff again goes for Seattle and the AA BDE shoots down 12 Betties and Sallies.

No sign of KB.

------------------------
Luzon
------------------------

Manila falls on the first attack. This frees up some troops for him.

-14th ID
-19th ID
-6th Guards ID

My bet is that they are going to India. Jeff has probably figured out by now that he doesn´t have nearly enough there. 3 IDs would bring him up to about even strength with me (not counting incoming allied reinforcements).

------------------------
SOPAC
------------------------

I was expecting KB to have shown up by now...Hmm...

------------------------
India
------------------------

Stalemate for now and no combat. Jeff is sitting with his big stack at Ranchi. Its a jungle hex and I don´t have enough to overcome that x2 defense.

Not really sure how to play this...spent an hour just looking at the map trying to figure something out without finding a solution.

You have time, he doesn't. If you weren't able to trap one of his stacks just pull back to Calcutta - he can't ignore it now. In about 3 months your bombers will pulverize him.

You are right. I´m starting to get that dangerous "I want to do something" itch...which is just that. Dangerous.

For India, you need to see how you can rotate a division in and out of front line duty to get 42 rifle upgrades.

As Allies, you have the twice monthly morale boost when nice reinforcements come in. SeaBee numbers should be climbing steadily to help you build up in India.

Blame your young kids for all these illnesses. [:D]

It doesn't help that Jocke drives himself too hard to do work, home renovations, a recent move, new job, spend time with his family and ... us.
Did a stress scale questionnaire once and change of job, moving and new child were very high on the list of stressors! [X(]

I guess the scales designers didn't know about WITP-AE or it would have been on there too! [;)]

Jeff has cut China in half. I can´t stop his thrust into the Chunking plains. I have about 1500 AV (well dug in) in the way but all units have 0 supply despite no overstacking. He can just walk up to Chungking.

There is still some supply in Chungking and I´ll leave some 3000 AV there. The rest will try and move for the Changsha area and the mountains.

Stalemate continues. I am stronger then he is here. But not strong enough to defeat him in good defensive terrain. And not strong enough to push down towards Chittagong AND protect my flanks/rear against his big stack.

I played with the idea of trying to cut his main stack off. But the same problem applies here. I can´t prevent him from reopening the hex sides.

I think he will send the 3 IDs freed up from Luzon here and quite possible the KB as well. If KB doesn´t show up in SOPAC or NORPAC shortly I will know he is on his way. Either way its time to send the CV fleet back to CT. Ent and Hornet need still havn´t gotten their 4/42 upgrades done and Indomitable will withdraw shortly.

32nd ID is 10 days from Bombay, 2nd ID is 6 days from Aden and the 1st Marines are 19 days from CT. Those are the only big reinforcements slated for India during 42. Indian army is steadily growing but is VERY inexperienced with a few exceptions.

------------------------
SOPAC
------------------------

An empty TK. She will probably make it.

Take lots of Vitamin C to keep colds at bay. I take extra in evenings (1000 units in am and pm) when I feel a cold is coming on.

Ouch.

------------------------
NORPAC
------------------------

Jeff outsmarted me here. Yesterday Hiei bombarded Prince Rupert while a 4 ships TF was hovering behind it. I assumed this was another transport for Anette Island so I moved my bombers in. Instead this happened:
Night Naval bombardment of Prince Rupert at 199,43

Allied aircraft
no flights

Allied aircraft losses
P-40E Warhawk: 14 damaged
P-40E Warhawk: 3 destroyed on ground
SBD-3 Dauntless: 8 damaged
SBD-3 Dauntless: 2 destroyed on ground
Stranraer II: 1 damaged
SBD-1 Dauntless: 5 damaged
SBD-1 Dauntless: 1 destroyed on ground
SB2U-3 Vindicator: 1 damaged
SB2U-3 Vindicator: 1 destroyed on ground
PBY-5 Catalina: 2 damaged
PBY-5 Catalina: 1 destroyed on ground

Japanese Ships
BB Ise

Allied ground losses:
69 casualties reported
Squads: 1 destroyed, 1 disabled
Non Combat: 3 destroyed, 5 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 1 disabled

Good play by Jeff which cost me 10+ planes on the ground. Especially the P40s are painful to lose.

I also miss timed over Vancouver and instead of dodging a sweep I was caught on the ground when Japanese bombers hit the airfield there. Ouch and another 10 planes lost. Most P39s luckily.

------------------------
SOPAC
------------------------

Bought out another Australian ID. They OZ forces will have to do a lot of the messy jobs in 42 due to the low US squad pools. One of my big convoys returning to Panama was hit with a DL 2. Probably SIGINT but I diverted them further south. They should reach the end of the map in 8 days or so. Don´t think Jeff has anything this far south but KB is still missing....

------------------------
India
------------------------

Fleet leaves Madras for Colombo. They will cover the approach of the 32nd and then up to Karachi to cover 2nd British IDs passage. Then its off to CT for upgrades. First part of 2nd British arrived two turns ago! [&o]

------------------------
China
------------------------

Usual not very fun stuff....Jeff should reach Kienko in a couple of turns.

Forgot to take a screen!

Where can Ise replenish? Does this provide you a window of opportunity?

Struggling a bit with lack of time lately and sadly the quality of the AAR have been suffering. I wish I could say it will get better but right now it doesn´t look like anything will change in the near future. Its just everyday life taking up a huge chunk of my time right now. [:(]

------------------------
NORPAC
------------------------

Jeff is back at Vancouver pouring in his bombers. Not too much escort though...we will see if I can do anything about it.

------------------------
SOPAC
------------------------

More engineers arrive at Noumea. Forts are approaching 6 rapidly. Fleet has pulled back to Sydney awaiting the possible arrival of KB. If he doesn´t show up soon I´ll know they went to India.

The 2nd NZ AA BDE arrives. Sadly they don´t come at full strength and lack of 3.7 inch AA guns means it will be a while before they can fill out. Bought it out cheaply though! [:)]

------------------------
India
------------------------

Some good reinforcements here as the 88th Indian BDE arrives. Its a good one (50/50) which means I can recombine the 14th Indian ID. The 32nd ID suddenly pops on map 2 days earlier then expected! Nice boon. [&o]

About have the 2nd British are now in strat mode in Aden. Last part is 10 days out. My main stack is moving down towards Jeffs "new stack". I hope I can catch some units before he pulls out. Or possibly pull his main stack down towards Calcutta.
