I am playing sloppy so the turns are going fast. As Japan I am only spending 5-10 minutes compaired to my hour previously. I have had a few Allied ships sink because I forgot to send them back to port and I have lost several AC due to Ops since I did not stand them down in bad weather. Add in the fact that I have run some bases out of supply and I am pretty sure I would get court martialed. Can't run the Allies like Japan[;)]

Disablements were pretty bad. Somewhere in the range of 1/3 TOE. Constatnt bombardment lowered the defender's AV but took a toll on the Allied ships. Most BB/CA are in the 10-15 sys damage range.

What do you think of my plan?

I do not think the Allies have enough to do a full blown invasion of the Home Islands. I am thinking of a limited invasion of Kyusha and Hokkiado with the goal of having both completed by May 45. After that all units will be used to invade the PI.

as long as you don't reinforce japanese troops across from Honshu...very doable. Shikka will be cleared out in about 1 month. Then you can transport your troops back to Okinawa for a little R&R for a 1 a month (resting in winter zones will take forever to repair those disablements). That will leave you 3 months to conquer those 2 islands.

In India, I should be able to retake everything by the end of 45. Rangoon will not be possible

no rush there, you will have about 3-4000 AV on hand in India for the remainder of the war. Which should be enough to islolate Madras. Calcutta will be tough to take though. Perhaps leaving an escape route to Diamond Harbor will make it easier.

The DEI will be cleared out with the exception of Singapore.

Will need to beef of some forces here to accomplish this IMO. IIRC i only had about 1000 AV down in this sector. Will have to stript some garrison troops.

In the CentPac, aside from taking weakly defended islands, not much is going to happen.

Ponape, Truk look impregnable....Kwalejein, Palau, Marcus are doable.

With all this in mind the Allies will not be able to score enough points to get to 2:1 by the end of 45. Therefore I am going to focus on reducing Japan's base points by going after the industrial base. Industry in the HI will be bombed for points but the main goal is to destroy the supply procucing industry to cause shortages and thus reduce the points gained for base control (See 16.0 on page 200 of the manual)

To accomplish this, resources and oil (outside the DEI) will be the primary focus of my airforce. As Japan I will defend these but even unescorted B-29s should be able to press on with acceptable losses. Once most are gone, the bombing of ports and airfields will begin to destroyed stored supply.

I will also attempt to start a firestorm in a city inwhich all the industry has already been damaged to see if it can really be destroyed.

Will be interesting how much strategic bombing can yield in points. Beware of how much supply B29's suck up, and also the fatigue levels are brutual on those missions over 20 hex's. I'm sure you are upgrading the majority of those B24's....or at least those B25's, in order to accomplish this.

looks good, although i would probably conquer Luzon/DEI before Kyushu/Hokaido. Kyushu/Hokaido will require naval bombardments and your ships could us some repairs. Luzon/DEI can be conquered with LBA support alone...along with Para-Drops. So while your airforce and ground pounders are clearing out those "rear areas", your navy and transports can resupply/re-equip for the big offensive directed at Japan in Mid-1945.

I am not upgrading any sqaudrons from what they already are. I figure I have enough as it is.

I forgot to mention that I will be bypassing Java and Sumatra (except Palambang) in the DEI. 1000AV should be more than enough.

I am looking at another stock game once I finish this one. Having never played any mods I don't think I am up to the learning cliff. I already have another vict.....um...opponant lined up.[8D]

Once this one is done Kenny and I plan on writing a piece on what we have learned and what we would do differntly next time.
