Two hvac units with zones is a good idea. Have you thought about solar panels?....GP

No solar panels at construction time. Down the road, you never know. [:)]

So - if I was doing a new build (and I am not really a tree hugger). I would look into geothermal and put the solars on the roof if you have the right facing. Solar (I believe, depends on State, though at the Fed level it is still in place) gets you a nice tax credit. I am guessing Geo would as well. And then you are off the grid and storms/outages are handled at home. And depending on consumption/state you can give back to the grid and get a check back each month.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to get solar for my house. I'll explain later. I'm in the ER and they just put the sensor on my finger so can't type much....GP

Looking forward to hear all about it. And I hope they fix you up to spec as soon as possible. I hope it nothing serious.

If you do hug a tree, it will give you an idea of the diameter should you want to cut it down. With an estimation of the height that will give you the usable board feet out of it should you want to cut it for lumber. If you want to cut it for a log home or cabin, that is also very useful.

Geo is good but it also depends upon where you live and the water table.

Some place, some where, it is a nice sunny day with a gentle breeze. A nice day, not to dry nor to muggy. [:D]

I wonder where that is? [8|]

Well I'm back from the ER. There treating my bronchitis like pneumonia so I'm on new steroids and antibiotic.

As far as solar panels go, I don't have enough clear roof space for the number of panels that my house requires. So we're thinking about building a outdoor covered structure to entertain in with the panels on top to provide shade and energy....GP

WTF GP - what are you doing in the ER?

As too trees RJ, we took down a bunch to put in the pool. Black walnut. Tried to get it milled but no joy, so firewood. We needed to take down a few more later but this time we were able to get them milled.

See post above in regards to the ER. Black walnut is a very nice hardwood. Expensive too....GP

Contact a cabinet/furniture maker, that black walnut should be very expensive. I remember reading where a family came home and their black walnut tree had been removed when they were gone. That one tree was worth 1500 USD and this was well over ten years ago. There are people with portable saw rigs who will travel if there is enough wood to cut into lumber.

But that should be good wood for smoking/grilling meats. [:'(] Even just the scraps. [:'(]

Do you have albuterol? That should help if it is not contraindicated. Halls blue cough drops otherwise should help the breathing. Do not be surprised if you cough up some large lung cookies. Be wary if it is yellow or red. But the antibiotics should help and may help turn it yellow.

If you have been around any mold or areas where there could have been mold, then if you do not get better, then you make need a Bronchoscopy.

There was not a lot of progress in the last week on the house when we visited yesterday, but I did get some more pictures of detail areas. Here is a view from one of the upstairs bedrooms, looking up into the attic at one of the two HVAC units. This one is for the upstairs zone and the other will be for the downstairs zone.

Edit: Sorry fellas. It seems the forum is having trouble uploading a file currently. [:(]

Upload is working again. I know you guys were dying from suspense, just waiting to see this picture. [:D]
