So um......I started the early Vietnamization program, maybe that's the cause of the jump in replacement rate. The VP total? I guess you mean what is the Allied VP....it's -11 for the Allies. What's a pacification event? Do you mean is he getting any conscripts from capturing a province capital? We'll have to get Ron to post here to tell us.
Sounds like the replacement jump was probably caused by the early Vietnamization. Have to ask Curt. I've been tempted to utilize early Vietnamization but one reason I've held off wa the fear of undertaking additional fighting with ARVN without an increase in replacements. If the replacement boost was caused by activating Vietnamization then that option becomes much more acceptable. You could field 3 US divisions for the cost. Still, a 40% increase in ARVN strength is tempting. Even if their activation each turn is unreliable you gain a lot of garrison and blocking troops. There will be an increase in mobility for Corps and Regional/Popular Forces as well.
A pacification event occurs whenever the the NFL convert a hex in a South Vietnamese Province to their control. Once each turn for each province where that happens it gives a percentage chance for a VP gain. When a VP is successfully scored the news post
"VC activity in (insert province name)" is shown in the news reports. Pacification event is just another name listed in the Word file briefing for the triggering of the percentage check.
I know you are aware of this we're just using different terms. I thought the explanation might be useful for those new to this scenario.
