I always had a hard time finding other players. So it's still in good shape for being bought back in the mid '80s. So I had to wait till my oldest child could understand the rules.

I feel your pain. I recall back in Highschool I couldn't get anyone to play some D&D with me for 'nothing. God forbid it was something more esoteric like GURPS, or Warhammer, or any of the really fantastic space wargames.

Before that Tactics and Strategy Board games by Avalon Hill. Blitzkrieg, Luftwaffe, Bismarck, D-Day, War in the Pacific, Midway, even Freedom in the Galaxy: The Star Rebellions 5764AD, etc.. I still have most of them too. :D

Within the Sci-Fi board game genre, that's one of my absolute all-time favorites.
Great, now I have to buy another out of print boardgame [;)]
