The chances of scoring a direct hit on a tank with a high explosive bomb were very slim, and a near miss would be no worse for the tank than small arms fire from the shrapnel generated by the blast. The dive bomber was a more accurate weapon but against heavy tanks still not that effective. Not until rockets and cannons were mounted on planes did they become effective tank busters, and that was not till mid to late 2nd World War.

The mortality rate of infantry in Panzer Divisions is very high, the panzers/tanks or Halftracks provide no protection for the infantry that make the Division make sense, if I felt that there was a benefit to keeping infantry with panzers some kind of combined arms bonus, then I would but the infantry die to quickly (Mostly because if they attack enemy tanks those tanks still have the same bonuses against the attacking infantry even though the infantry will be walking with or riding behind tanks) and seem to make no difference to the combat effectiveness of the Armor.

Well each sft can only fire x number of times and if they are firing at Rifles then they are NOT firing at your tanks.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

I will agree that due to the time frame of the mod, aircraft are not effective until mid war. By the summer/fall of '42, the desert war armor was being harassed from the air, and the addition of tracked AAA speaks volumes to this. Also, most armored divisions on all sides were target rich in HT's, light armored vehicles, trucks, infantry and anti tank guns, something not really well done in ATG game terms. There was a reason why Tanks without infantry support were vulnerable (see the early German successes in France '40 where small Tank units got there noses bloodied when they reached too far forward of their infantry support).
The other question that arises is, if the war had begun earlier (1938 or so like the mod), why wouldn't the same progression of technology to defeat the Tanks take place earlier also?
