Nice job on Task Force Z. Looks like a very good first turn for Japan. You were rewarded, it seems, for all the work that went into the turn.

You will need to monitor these levels periodically and jigger them up or down as needed. Check your pools on arm. and veh.
Next, Light Industry. It's a good idea to increase production in places that are high in resource production. By turning those resources into supply right on the spot you save a lot because you won't have to ship so many resource points back to the home islands. Do this in possessions that you expect to hold for most of the war. In this example you see Toyohara on the island of Sakhalin. It produces 520 pts. in resources but only 40 pts. in Light industry. I'd up that by 5 or 10 pts. to start. Do not exceded that or you'll suck up all the supplies in the world! Wait for those 10 points to repair then nudge it up another 10 later on. I recommend doing this in Manchukuo, Korea and Hokkaido. Think about doing it in Indochina and some places you capture in the DEI.

I recommend doing this in Manchukuo, Korea and Hokkaido.

I like to do it on Formosa as well. Lot of resources, not much industry.

It can be a mistake to turn off armaments or vehicles. It only works if the game ends prior to 1945.

Not turning them off forever. Trying to conserve HI. Everything's time will come. I'm more than doubling vehicle production. Manage your pools. Don't be automatically upgrading everything and taking replacements where they're not needed and you can stretch your expenditures further instead of collecting heaps of discarded equipment.

Subs. Most should be cancelled. I like the ones that carry FPs and I'll build many of them. I also want to have some SSTs, just not all the ones in the hopper.

I think I'm going to complete turn two before I begin tackling the aircraft, engine and R&D factories. Big headache. The engines that are already built, I'm liable to build airframes to put them in, even though I may just be producing trainers. I need lots of training. If I recall correctly, the Tony takes a unique engine and I can save a lot if I cancel both. On paper Tony looks like something I should want, but I never got good results from them. I will be reconsidering them nonetheless.

Talk to Loka about the Tony, he swears by them. Me I don't see it, and I plan on sticking with the Tojo with the four HMG's, but I could be wrong.

I think it depends on how you use Tony and whether it is PDU:On or off. In PDU:ON, I really like Tony (though I have not played PDU:ON since my first game against the AI). In PDU:Off, there are not enough of them to do much, which gets to the point of how you use Tony. By itself, Tony is not the best plane. It has low manueverability, even at lower altitudes. If you use it as the high end of a layered cap, however, it really excels as an air superiority fighter: against bombers, not so much. At least that has been my limited experience. I swear by the Tony as well, but in limited numbers, not as the mainstay of Japan's fighter force.

On Tony, the only ones I'd be interested in is the Ki-61-Id and the Ki-100-I. I suppose I could just research my way to them and only build under a hundred HA-60s.

Landings look pretty good gorn, but it doesn't seem like you hurt his navy much. Not to mention his air, all those unaffected search assets may come back to haunt you. Where the heck the KB go, the world wonders.[:D]

Edit:Never mind, on second look I think I found it.
