A few more bombers go in, the Nells fly against Wake in the afternoon, and 7 Wildcats are flying CAP, but too high, thank goodness, or it could have been a bloodbath.

Two surprises for the day...I didn't think he could change attack orders just CAP percentage. Costs me a Yusen N Cargo ship here...she will most likely burn up tomorrow.

RE: The Dutch are the first to Die!
It does not always report damaged aircraft on airfield strikes in the Combat report. See my combat report on Pearl Dec. 7th. My report omitted damaged aircraft as well. They are damaged, though, I assure you.

B17s at 2000 feet...I guess that tells about all you need to know about how ruthlessly this war will be fought by the Allies.[:D]

RE: In blossom today, then scattered; Lowpe (J) vs Obvert (A)

1) I think its gamey. Not important what I think though. It's what you and Obvert think.
2) How many factories are you going to put into Tony to move up the 100 I by 2 years? That is a lot of R&D, and you will not even have 500 engines in the pool until fall 42, even with heavy Kawasaki R&D and production. By using much less Heavy Industry for R&D, you can have the 61D in early 43 and the Tony 1 in early 44. The only major differences between the 61D and the 100 I are 4 points of manuever and 1 service rating. All things are a tradeoff.
Oh... I just realized that the 100 uses the Mit 33. So I guess going for it directly is more efficient than I initially thought.
All feedback welcome, especially disagreeing feedback is often the most valuable.
I see you caught the engine change for the 100; that is why to go for it.
RE: In blossom today, then scattered; Lowpe (J) vs Obvert (A)
Hrm, not a bad first day. I wonder if some of those BBs at Pearl will sink. Maryland seems likely, the others... depends how damaged they really are.
RE: In blossom today, then scattered; Lowpe (J) vs Obvert (A)
Reorganization. Sigh. It seems the High Command neglected to spread the word we are about to get into a war with a huge Alliance!

Paratroopers!
Giretsu Kuteitai
Often overlooked. Could be some beneficial special missions in their use throughout the war. Especially lightly garrisoned airfields.

RE: The Dutch are the first to Die!
I airlifted some of the 3rd Air Division into Patani to get some AV support there for the fighters.
A Babs unit start here, with a detachment over Saigon way. They already fly the Dinah, so I manually upgraded the Babs unit, and then flew the detachment to Patani and combined them.
Now I have a great recon unit, lacking pilots which I will fix shortly, that can hopefully avoid the CAP over Singers and give us some great reporting there.

RE: The Dutch are the first to Die!
The crazy weird 4th Sentai. Starts in three splinters, 2 Nates and one Babs. It is restricted.
If you upgrade these guys to planes other than the Nick A, you will lose the ability to make a night fighter out of the unit. And that would severely weaken your night fighting capability since it is a very large squadron.
I upgraded the Babs section to Nates...will fly them all back to the HI, near Hokkaido will they will train pilots and act as an emergency CAP should the Allies want to visit.
