I always suspected the Danish of harboring secret communist sympathies. The British - after helpfully "reinforcing" their capital - must feel really rejected.

I imagine the Danes realize that the British are there for their own reasons of state. The bombing of Copenhagen must have reduced it to rubble the size of grains of sand. It was continuous for three years.

The Reds certainly sent vessels to pick up refugees, and perhaps some belligerent able bodied men too.

Of note : The Germans pushed the British out of Copenhagen, but failed to garrison the city. The British corps moved back in. Denmark did surrender.

Soviet Union : the die is cast. Stalin's Generals tell him the Red Army is ready to take on the weakened Axis. Two air formations have already been overrun. In the south disaster looms as three korps are surrounded. They are good formations but Soviet strength is overwhelming.
