It wasn't an army it was armies... I really hate that you can't move units so that they simply get destroyed. Boring.

Anyways. partisans are now running amok in Russia so that's nice....

This cannot be good. Losing both Brunei and Thailand cannot be very good for you. The allied forces must somehow be quite strong in the region.

I don't know what you mean about Brunei. I have not lost this yet.

As for Thailand, this has no troops and so given that I can't even hold China and am struggling to make further gains, I am not surprised I can't hold it [;)] This is a first go as the Axis and I am learning not just how to be the Axis but also how to play the game.

A new year, more snow in the USSR and my troops remain pretty much where they've been for many months now.

The Allies press the Axis forces from both the east and the west in Libya/Tunisia.

While the Japanese simply can't stop the Chinese juggernaut (aided by the British).

Hitler tells me there are some wonder weapons on the way and we will still win the war, so that's good...

The weather precludes any movement on the Soviet Front. The Italians continue to take a beating as they are chased back to Tripoli and the Japanese retreat further in China.....

The war has not moved in a direction favourable to the Axis.....[:D]

The German pretence that they are still moving forward in the USSR is finally over and they start to withdraw.

I know it was a first attempt but even so. The Germans never made it anywhere near Leningrad, Moscow or Stalingrad. Hell they didn't even capture Rostov or Sevastopol....

I managed to have a little fun in China this turn, destroying a British tank - but otherwise....

7 May 1943

It's the last hurrah for the Regia Marina. My few aircraft on Sicily weakened a couple of BB, a CA (and possibly a DD). My surface vessels then did a hit and run raid, sinking I believe, a BB and a DD and further damaging a BB and CA before retiring.

Annoyingly the enemy seems to retreat for miles before I can destroy them - this time it was a US armoured corps near Tunis.

On the Eastern Front its full blown retreat mode, while I notice a couple of DD in the English Channel so no doubt an invasion is about to hit.....

I think with the mistakes made at the start of the game, this was always unwinnable, but there have been so many errors subsequently. Some because I don't understand the rules, but others because of a lack of thought over unit placement.

I remove a second British (Canadian?) tank - although at cost to one of my own. However I can't stop the bridgehead from expanding as more units land....

Some limited success in the desert too. I destroy a US armoured corps - but the British are about to rain on my parade in Tripoli....

I am clinging on to any ounce of comfort I can find at present...

The British are temporarily inconvenienced outside Tripoli - I counter-attack following a British attack that did not go smoothly. At least one British unit was destroyed.
