Japanese Naval Task Force arrived to Rangoon and later attacked convoy ar Ramree Island. 2 AK ships and one small escort ship were sunk.

Allied HQ decided to hunt down Japanese force. They moved British Carrier group near Rangoon and provided direct battleships protection for another bigger convoy.
Unfortunately enemy task force was detected at Rangoon itself under protection of Zero fighters. Despite of all odds, without fighter escort Allied planes attacked enemy. Almost 40 planes were shot down. No enemy losses. Carrier group will withdraw to base.

Just after Allied HQ announced that they get through air defenses of Port Augusta, enemy moved more planes there and started air counter offensive. At first Japanese battleships bombed Adelaide base. After that sweep raids and bomber attacks, they closed base. On next day similar move was made against Broken Hill base (but without battleships).
North west from Port Augusta, Japanese forces attacked troops returning from Perth Region that blocked rail road Perth-Port Augusta.
Thanks to quick bombers response enemy was beaten back

After Japanese air counteroffensive, Japanese planes attacked allied troops. Big losses were inflicted.
Ill attempt to attack Rockhampton was prepared. Allied cruisers and destroyers moved north from Sydney. Enemy detected them and send Val bombers, but CAP destroyed almost 20 planes. Allied ships wasn’t damaged as enemy attacked using 60kg bombs.
On next night ships moved to Rockhampton. 2 naval TF’s were detected.
