Production Questions?

Do you have any control or ability to define what vehicles are built such as engineering vehicles, tanks, arty, etc?

Is there any production options for China, British, Russia or other allied forces?

No, the Japanese have generic vehicle factories that produce points that convert into needed vehicles (yes it's simplistic). Aircraft is handled in detail.

There is very limited on map production for the Allies (most Australian and limited US West Coast). The rest enters the board from the US Base and is not under player control. We have given the Japanese great ability to shift between types of production and to focus on expanding cetain items at the expense of others. We do not plan to do this for the US as the Pacific was pulling only a share of total Allied resources (backwater to Europe, although a big one).

I like the idea of being able to modify the prewar production and research. Mogomi's idea has merit. I have played UV against the AI five times and I have used the editor each time to change something. Please keep and expand this capability in WITP.

Mogami wrote:Hi, currently the US player does not have to worry about trained pilots just production These USAAF pilots were 10's versus Japanese 99's (Don't faint this is why I'm testing)
Personally I think untrained pilots are at a disadvantage no matter how good their aircraft (unless it flies it's self) It appears currently the aircraft are more important then who is flying them.
(But at least in this test, skilled pilots can achive equal kills) I'll raise the number of Japanese aircraft to see what weight the numbers difference made.

It would seem that the system as it now stands not only gives inadequate
weight to pilot training/skill---it also lacks a "self-preservation" factor. Surely
as these one-sided massacres shaped up the losing side's pilots would have
"cut and run" for the clouds, the deck, or anyplace else that offerred hope of
escape. The game seems to believe that everyone involved in the fight was
suicidally disinterested in saving his own skin---an historically unviable proposition.
