OK been analysing my position so far I lost Singapore early but I have managed to avoid major losses apart from on the ground in Singapore and Burma

My fleet losses have been light so far and in fact I have managed to sink 11 IJN DD's and a pair of CL's.

One of my big worries is the RAF pilot pool and it is still in reasonable shape.

In fact I have 5 USAAF Bomber Gps in India plus a couple of independent Sqns. (PDU makes it ridiculously easy to forward deploy USAAF) I have 3 in full scale training mode equipped with A20's and B25's and even one Gp equipped with B18's for training purposes.

If Pauk tries India those bombers should come as a nasty surprise.

Burma was a complete mess by me but on the other hand it forced me to send the 2+ Divisions that were committed to its defence back to India making India more secure when they get off the trails.

If I assume Pauk will want Sumatra or Java before India or Australia then I should have time to get those forces back to India and re consolidated plus a few of my units in better shape from Malaya rebuilt.

Give me until 1st May and I will be confident I can stop an India offensive cold if he attacks before then the issue is in doubt.

Australia will get any fragments from PI and DEI but actually I want him to attack Australia to bring my militia into play.

NZ, SOPAC and CENTPAC are more at risk of an early offensive.

Canton, New Cal, New Zealand, Palmyra, Johnton, Suva are all vulnerable.

My focus is going to be reinforcing Suva, NZ and Palmyra as the nodal bases for my 43 attacks.

The rest are expendable and I will not commit units to an area if I cannot even make the attempt to protect them.

Operation Irritate Pauk has now been officially launched.

The entire army I have above Chengtu has been ordered to march 1 hex south when it crosses the river it will shock attack and hopefully rout the 4 Japanese units in that hex......

If nothing else it will keep him honest !!!!!

I feel a big attack is due soon at Manila when it does if I hold it will slow him up for a month or more....

manila must hold until late Feb to give me any hope of defending India/ Australia.

THis turn Pauk managed to hit Tjiljapt harbour which I had neglected to protect as silly silly mistake

1 CLAA is sunk

Pauk lands in Java its not a feint !!!!

But he lands at the wswamp infested Malaria zone that is Kragen.

I will try to concentrate at Soerbijou to hold out for as long as possible

OK I am still convinced he will go for India so I will give a quick rundown of the impressive airforce I have built in India to stop him cold !!!!

At Bangalore (223 RAF Gp in 22 days)

36th/73th/ 93rd USAAF Bomber Sqns all equipped with A20's (48 A20's)
RAAF Strike Wing 1st/8th/ 2/2nd/ 2/13th Sqns with Beauforts (48 Beauforts)
RAF Bomber Wing 34th/60th/ 62nd /84th/211th Sqns (72 Blenheim I and IV's)
RAF Strike Wing 36th/100th/273rd/ 4AACU (40 Vildebeeeste/ 12 Swordfish)

Now that is am impressive amount of antishipping firepower !!!!

At Calcutta/ Dacca

5th (48 B25C Mitchell)
7th (48 A20B Havoc)
19th (48 B 17E Flying Fortress)
39th (48 B17E Flying Fortress)
41st BG (64 LB 24's) - Personal house rule no more than 1 gp with LB 24's
42nd (64 B26 Marauders)

Unlike previous games I wont be able to equip all my USAAF Gps with 4 E bombers.

To allow losses no more than 2 Gps will be equipped with B17's in India.

Havoc Mitchells and Marauders will all be used.

My intention is to use the 2 Strike Wings on antishipping backed by Mitchells and Havoc equipped USAAF Gps.

My 4E and Marauder/Blenheim Gps and Sqns will concnetrate of AF/ Port and Ground unit suppression.

I am very short of fighters so I need to focus on forcing Pauk to keep KB concnetrated to provide aircover for any invasion I think I have perhaps went overkill on bomber aircraft in India !!!

OK the full price of yesterdays attack on Kweilin became apparent today when I got bounced out of Kweilin.

Wuchow is now a trap and I am moving back. Mandalay was sieved but this was anticipated and 90% of the garrison had been airlifted back to to India.

Most of the Burma Corps will have recovered to India in plenty of time to repulse any assault.

Apart form that all is quiet.

His landing at Kragen is a major landing so I am treying to concentrate my army.

The worst thing that can happen is to get defeated in detail.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 01/30/42

OK Yunan is getting annoying poxy Paras wont die .....

I have moved the dismounted Devastators onto Koepang as he seems to be sending an invasion TF in lets see what some elite TB can achieve.

I did not want to do a Sir Robin in this game but circumstances have forced me to it after Singapore fell early. At least I managed to concentrate in PI on Manila.

I still expect an assault on India and I am deliberately holding my air in reserve. (although no units prepping for India yet

The tempation to flatten Burma is intense but I want to hold my strength in reserve until he commits against India. (also if he sees the strength he may go againtst Aus)

Eric at 2by3 has already acknowledged that aircraft get too many hits on sub. Its supposed to get toned down in the next patch but everytime they think they're ready to release someone finds another huge bug in it.

Aye well I am losing a lot of subs but I get plenty more.

PT BOats strike again looks like Koepang and Palembang are going to get hit soon.

I am not planning on contesting them much.

India is getting stronger and stronger as my Singapore refugees recover strength and dig in.

Australia 1st Aus Corps is rapidly concentrating at Charter Towers (1 Aus Div/ 2 Aus Cav Div/ 30 Inf Bde)
2 Divs and 2 Bdes are now in North Australia and my Perth force is forming as 3rd Inf Div gets closer.

SOPAC will be strong when my 100,000 man convoy arrives. But Fiji is secure for now New Cal will be made secure soon.

Overall I am reasonably happy.

Andy

Quiet couple of turns except that the Free French Navy raided Koepang damageing a few transports and hitting a DD hard (another Japanese DD down [:D][:D][:D])

I still have no clue as to whether he is going north or south....

If I was a betting man I would stick with India but he has committed a lot around Koepang so far (to be fair I put up more resistance which may be why im seeing so much shipping and I didnt get punished for my DD raid)

Hmmm I hate not knowing I am going to revisit all defences and look again at Suva/ New Cal just to be safe.
