Pretty much a lot of sub and anti-sub around the PI with nothing decisive going on ... the one surface battle we've had is depicted below ... I was actually just trainin' up part of my BB force when some US DDs showed up ... we wound up scuttling one of our DDs and my opponent says he lost one ( later ) as well ... if true maybe a victory for us !

I lost Bataan to CAPT on 6/28 after 5 days of battles - of course that was in 1.3 =)

Can you beat that?

I don't even think we will have advanced into the Bataan hex by then ... actually I think CAPT has 1.3 but with 1.2 cam132.dat file which means he also had 20,000 PP at start ( by mistake ) 1.3 and 1.4 only have 500 for Japan ... so the extra 19,500 PP probably helped a lot !

( I have sent him the correct cam file )

No wonder I faced 6 divisions and change there... 180 000 men.

Now how was I supposed to counter that? :p

One can probably get 6 divisions there by then .. but not engineers and arty ( not without the PP ) ...

Ok after a few more days of one off sub / ASW activity around the PI ... time for another surface battle ! This time for once ( maybe for the first time !? ) we actually win one.

All three US ships were sunk in exchange for only very light damage ( all ships sys dmg still green ) on our side !

Not sure what the US ships were thinking, but my guess would be they were running ...

We're finally getting ready for the "big push" towards Bataan. But meanwhile, our invasion of Davao runs into a couple of US DDs .. not sure what they are doing down there !? But we win our second surface battle in a row !? Otherwise, things are fairly beneign.

Hm... you're risking sailing your BBs that far south that early?

And why is Fuji white rather than grey? :)

They are "training up" in the low intensity area and at the same time running "interdiction" ( with some success ! ) and also covering smaller landings ( like Davao, etc. ) so other than leaving them sitting in the Home Islands doing nothing, this seemed like the best activity for them.

The Fuji looks different because I'm working on a pre-dreadnought ( 1900 ) scenario ... subsequently I've moved this development over to another instance of WPO ... but I forgot to revert the Fuji art back to the original.

We have finally moved into the Bataan hex. The US Artillery at Bataan still seems stronger than the massed artillery of the IJA ( all indepedent arty regiments in the IJA are in the Bataan hex along with the DIV ARTY for each of the seven divisions also there. Two additional divisions are enroute.

My goodness, looks like we will need to massively reinforce the ASW effort in the Marshalls, in order to enable our minelaying activities. Outside the Bataan artillery duel, the increase of ASW effort in the Marshalls is now our #1 priority. A second ASW DD group is enroute, as well as a patrol squadron. But looks like another of each will be needed quickly.

Looks like we may have finally turned the corner in the Arty war - this is good - we have several CE regiments moving into the Bataan hex as well as a second HQ, once these have arrived we will try an attack
