where are Jacks ?
give me my Jacks back [;)]

Aw, I'm sorry [;)]

I think the other accelerated fighter programs more than compensate though!

from the website:
The J2M3 "Jack" is cancelled to free design staff for the A7M (corresponding by the way with what Horikoshi, the designer HAD demanded in real life). However, due to difficulties with the heavy Mitsubishi engine, this aircraft still will not appear until November 1944.

jack entered service in early 43 - it creates gap in 43 as george is available in early 44 as well as now accelerated reppu
not a big deal as you need to stay on zero/zeke line in navy against enemy heavy bombers attacks
BTW
there is one problem i noticed - with cancellation of 7k AKs Japan can't convert anything to MLE/AR - it looks like hardcoded

i think i'd gladly play PBEM of this scenario - AI is too dumb for me

I was able to convert some without any problems. I'll check again and see what size they were, I think they were smaller than 7k, but bigger than 3500.

Is there any way I can get a copy of this? I'd like to see what Iron Storm "feels" like. The AAR is totally awesome.[&o]

Yup, see below - no problems with the conversions on turn one, they are in the queue now and life is good. It will be even better once I have these MLEs in operation. :)

Arrr,matey.. dar' be surface raiders 'ere....

Post by FeurerKrieg »

S Pacific, N of Pitcairn Island. The HOKOKU and AIKOKU MARUs overtake and attack the 6,210-ton American merchant SS VINCENT, bound from Sydney, Australia, for Panama, carrying a cargo of rice. Prior to her sinking, the VINCENT is briefly inspected by a prize crew from HOKOKU MARU led by her torpedo officer. At 1907, the AMCs start shelling the freighter and fire a total of eight shells. About 1935, as a fire breaks out aboard the VINCENT, her crew begins abandoning ship in three life boats. Later, the Japanese fire a single torpedo that sends her to the bottom at 22-41S, 118-19E. All nine officers and twenty-seven crewmen survive and are picked up by the HOKOKU MARU.

Pretty unusual surface action! Interestingly, the only surface-to-surface naval combat between the Americans and the Germans in WWII was between a Liberty ship and a convoy raider. Both ships mortally wounded the other.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Gentlemen:

Excellent AAR. My thanks to ny59giants for referring me over. Impressive amount of work into the background, too!

You're using Nik's Mod aren't you? And Andrew Brown's map? That would be quite a combination.

Alikchi, hope you give yourself plenty of time to recover from mononucleosis. It's a horrid scourge.

Thanks again for the excellent AAR. Happy hunting to both of you!

Thanks Odox! [8D]

Yep, Nik's Mod and Andrew's map. I haven't applied the AAA changes of NikMod, but air combat is on par with his work.. definitely much improved!

As for mono - thanks for asking. I'm still a little weak at the moment, but I'm better off than I was last weak. Being confined to home did give me plenty of time to write up the AAR.

Hope you enjoy what's coming!

Hi Alikchi,

I get an invalid or corrupt file error message when I double-click the zipped folder. When I try to force an extract I get a message that there are no files or the folder is corrupt.

When you or Rogue get a chance, can you check the folder please? TY.

I'll upload a new version right now - will post here when it's ready to download. [:)]

Edit - I haven't made any changes - when I say new, I mean overwriting the broken file.

Another update here tomorrow! December 8th has so many engagements that I really don't know where to start, writing-wise, and it's a bit late. [8D]

Then again, I have been known to stay up and do these before. We'll see.
