Watching Jason Scott right now, never heard of the guy, but he is one of the Archive Org team members so it seems.

Quite interesting what he has to tell us really. Most of us have been on the web for quite some time, and many of us have seen many sites go belly up. So the question is do we throw it away like rubbish? Like junk? Deleted into the digital oblivion? Or is it as Jason thinks "history" and is deleting these services "destroying history"?  Most of us think as Google as the ultimate digital archive but apparently it ain't. So that's where the Archive.org https://archive.org/ steps in.
When for instance Geocities got deleted they downloaded *all of its contents* and posted it on the Pirate Bay (650 Gig, second largest torrent ever).
Intriguing really.

Thank god for the archivists... without them, the internet really would be memory holed, only no one would know where the memory or the hole was.

And in keeping with the spirit of Hallowed Eve, here's George Romero's 'Day of the Dead', probably the most underrated zombie movie ever.

Saw "Million Dollar Baby" yesterday... well part of it anyways. Clint Eastwood fan myself ofcourse but damn that movie is good, I mean *good*.
Our own Lucia Rijkers played a part as the evil boxer, boy did she look mean. [:D] I think she was like six times world champion kickboxing.
