I most seriously doubt this is real advertisement... nobody is "hollier" than Germans regarding this stuff (i.e. Nazi Germany)... this simply can't happen in modern Germany (prison is real possibility)...

BTW, do you guys know that you can't have computer games with historic German markings in German stores or available on-line?

They are simply forbidden by law and even US companies have to obey (for example just look at Gary Grigsby's games that had to eliminate all historic German markings)!

It's not an ad intended for Germany though. It also doesn't have Nazi imagery either. I know that the Nazi imagery thing is a hurdle when I was putting together some new art for BTR, I had to make two sets, one for general release with all that stuff taken off and one for people outside Germany with the swastikas left on.

It's actually the sort of ad that would go down well here in the UK, like the Spitfire Ale ads [:D] Besides which I quite like the idea of a big company (especially a German one) having a sense of humour.

I dont know John that well, but from what I have seen, I think he will be back eventually. I would guess that he's just taking some time to detach and decompress. Hope so, anyway. He's very much fun to have around without even mentioning his deep knowledge of both the game and history in general.
