Thanks! No real VP for Darwin yet (because of lack of supply I guess).

Yeah, the one evicted into the swamp is marching back to Darwin so I figure they plan to either pick up both units by sea or land a prepared force to re-take the place. Need a few days to get more defenders in place. In about a week we can have an infantry regiment there too.

I think the destroyed unit was the fragment of 4th Div and the two units remaining (one in Darwin and the other in the swamp to the west) are the 26th Air Flotilla and the 32nd JAAF AF Coy. Still we will not attack until we get more defenders because bad timing could wreck our chances to defend if the Empire Strikes Back!

• Someone on the staff kept our sweeping P-38's over the hex west of Paoshan while the B-17's switched to the hex NW of Paoshan. Our lapse was punished today but we got off light. We lost 5 bombers to 4 fighters; a most of the rest are damaged and morale is awful (although it was likely low due ot extended ops anyway). The two B-17F Sqns will stand down to recover while the fighters sweep empty skies in anger.

What about dropping some paras at Darwin to plus up your ground defenders with a couple of hops from anywhere in Oz they should be there in 2-4 days?

The problems are transport and paras. I have no transport aircraft in range of Darwin, plus I don't have any paras in suitable places. Most of them are small commando units which I have doing garrison duty to thwart Imperial paras. I will free them up eventually, but Oz was short on troops to cover the vast areas (and number of bases).

Darwin being coastal I could use patrol flying boats to move troops but I don't really have any in places where I want to pull them out.

The good news is that an armored unit which just rolled into Katherine will change to start mode in 1 day, then take 1 day to reach Darwin. Keep your fingers crossed!

The two AA units marching from Alice Springs (I think they started in 1937) are almost to Katherine, they will also ride the rails into Darwin. One light AA and one heavy AA, so the 2EB coming calling should start to feel some pain then. The cruisers and destroyers... not so much! Very little I can do about them for now. Submarines laying mines and laying in wait is about it. No air support for a while and not so sure about supply for much in the way of air operations. We do have about 5,000 supply at Darwin but I forgot to look if seems to have come from Katherine or not; if not would imply we captured it. Always good to capture the Empire's supply!
