Prome gets hammered. Bombers from fly and hit the AFs. 167 bomb hits on the runways, 46 hits on the base and 31 supply hits with 41 troops killed. Not bad. I might go after the troops next turn. Meiktila is attacked by Helens and Kates. Kates take a beating. Koniu said that they weren't suppose to attack and he lost a lot of good pilots.[:D]

We bomb the Nav guard unit above Taung Gyi. We kill 170 troops. A ID, IR, tank unit, and arty unit are moving towards this hex. ID will get their first. Taung Gyi has no fighters this turn. Wonder where they went? Maybe Koniu doesn't have the suppy to keep them going. The stack next to Ramree Island is pulling back. This is good news. I will attack Ramree from the land side when all the troops are ready. Tomorrow we hit Prome AF and ground troops.

No idea. Sounds like it needs to be sandboxed to get a read on it. Not sure if you can separate out the aircraft maintenance draw from the actual operation draw. You would have to operate the base without fighters to get a baseline and then add the fighter CAP to see the additional draw.

We lose some Chinese bombers and a few Beaufighters. Our Brit ID is prepareing to attack tomorrow the nav guard unit above Taung Gyi.

Koniu spots our CVE's inbetween Marshall Islands and Midway. I was going to try for a resupply mission of the Marshalls. Now I don't know if I should go ahead with it. I bet he has the KB around or moving to this area.

I ask Koniu this question. Who do you think should play Wonder Woman? What do you guys think.

Question guys. I just had a SAG move from Tagula Island to Rabual without orders to do so. Orders were to go to Townsville and refuel. TF CO didn't really have a high aggression rating either. What the hell happened. React is to 0 also.

That SAG movement seems like a bug. The only thing close to it is when a TF flees from an enemy threat like a CV TF south of it, even though you have not detected it yet. This usually happens with merchant vessels, not fighting ships. And Rabaul is a long way off - they would have had to go at max speed.

Have you checked Capt. Bode's non-leader traits? Is he above 75 on the traitor scale? Is he a sex maniac going to Rabaul to visit a "comfort woman"? Does he have suicidal tendencies? A martyr complex? A Hollywood hero I-can-do-anything-and never-get-hurt persona?

Re: Wonder Woman - ten years ago I would have said Demi Moore, but not so sure computer enhancement could help the illusion now! Most of the athletic female actors are too slim, the buxom ones lack the tiny waist. By Hera, I have no other ideas!

2. On 28 June, what were the destination and home ports set of the TF?

3. Did the TF get intercepted by enemy air/naval forces at Rabaul?

4. Is enemy air present in quantity to the west of Tagula island?

5. What speed setting did you have the TF on as at 28 June?

6. How much fuel did Tagula island have as at 28 June?


Both your speed setting and default routing orders would encourage the TF to head to a fuel source. Particularly if it converted from Bombardment and is surrounded by strong enemy airpower.

This TF was not a Bombardment TF on the 28th or for a long time. It was covering an Amphib TF at Tagula island.

2. On 28 June, what were the destination and home ports set of the TF?
Patroling Tagula island. Home port was Milne Bay.

3. Did the TF get intercepted by enemy air/naval forces at Rabaul?
No naval or air intercepts.

4. Is enemy air present in quantity to the west of Tagula island?
None.

5. What speed setting did you have the TF on as at 28 June?
Full speed.

6. How much fuel did Tagula island have as at 28 June?
No fuel at Tagula.

TF 271 has been a SAG for awhile now. It was patrolling Tagula island, covering an amphib TF unloading and loading different troops. The amphib TF embarked all troops and headed to Oz. I forgot to set TF 271 destination but had home port set to Townsville to refuel. I don't know why the speed was set at Full speed but it was. On the 30th it ran straight to Rabual. I think the problem is that I didn't set a destination, but I want to make sure as to not make the same mistake again. There was no enemy presence west of Tagula or air attacks on TF 271 it just went straight to Rabual.

Nothing really happened.

Koniu has 2 strong SAGs at Rabual a SAG with 3 BBs and one with 4 CAs. I need to think of a way to bring them out and damage them. I bet he has them there to attack any attempts to take Buna or Woodlark.

He pulled his stack back 1 hex from Ramree Island. I now have a clear shot to attack Ramree from the land. That's what I am going to do. Just need to get my troops into place and this will happen.

I would send a cruiser force that appears to be for bombardment to the normal jumping off point to get to Buna for night bombardment. On the same turn it arrives at that point, flood the area between Rabaul and Buna with subs. Then send your TF home without bombarding. He will assume you are going to bombard and send his SCTFs into your sub trap.
