No Thank God. The story from the bulletin board is the Coast Guard chopper showed up and he declined a lift to the hospital. He drove himself back to the house where this picture was taken. The last i read he was recovering well after a three hour operation and was mad they wouldn't give him the hook as a souvenir.[&:]

Testosterone poisoned teen brains are not just some developmental misstep. The whole thing has a socio-biological purpose.
***************25,000 BC, somewhere is present-day Canada a small troop of human hunters encounter their first Mammoth after crossing the Bering land bridge***********
Okk-glub-glub (35 year old senior hunter, missing 3 fingers and his L eye, smells worse than a camel herder but tough as nails): HORY CRAP! Rook at size of beast. Must be careful. Very powerful. Kirr hunters.
Okk-glub-glub: While turning to young warm scented offspring, "Watch me.." Sudden combination of sounds, something between squish and a belly flop, as beast lowers head for hairy shishkabob.
So, last night me, mem-sahib and DU were all laying on our bed reading books.
Memsahib: This is nice, we should do this more often.
Me: We should all read a chapter from our books out loud for the others to hear.
Memsahib: Yours would be "This was the most important ship of its time and had 12 guns.
Me: Yours would be "My momma made me live in a tin can and eat frogs"
Memsahib: Hers would be "His skin was sparkling, their eyes met..."
Me: "... and then nothing happened"
At this point the 14 yo SU walked in..
Me: And his would be "See Spot. See Spot run. Run Spot Run."
The DU was still giggling 5 minutes later.

Hehe. Making fun of one's family is good for endless hours of entertainment. Of course, don't let anyone else try it. [:)]
Even at 14, the SU would have no trouble passing the high school exit exams in the LA Unified School District.
Formosa starts to crumble. The airfields at Taichu and Kagi are undamaged but likely don't have aviation support as they have been unused. 75 dive bombers at Karenko along with F6F's and F4F's all flagged under Thirteenth Fighter Command will mean a bad day for WJD ships that come within range. Range is now maxed out because the CAP is gone at Takao.
Japan sorties her carriers. Soryu and a CVL appear out of the mist, 100 mi S out Horycrappo-jima. Meanwhile, 2 CA's are spotted passing through the channel between Formosa and Iriomote.
We have a cruiser force at Horycrappo-jima, San Francisco, Wichita (with Radioman 1st Class Campbell aboard), Juneau and 4 DD's at Crappo. We have 3 CL's and 5 DD's at Karenko. Somehow, the inscrutaburh Japanese get this far without being spotted.
First up. Unescorted Helens from Okinawa attack Horycrappo-jima without escort. They get murderized. Next up a Marine aviation attack from Batan Is. USMC SBD's and some snazzy Corsairs attack the carriers at 280 miles range. There was a USN TBF squadron assigned to the same HQ but they did not bother to get out of bed. It isn't enough of an escort. Too bad. There were 70 P-40K's and 13 P-38's with the same HQ that might have gone along if the staff had thought to give them drop tanks. Dumb asses. Most of the SBD's that get through attack a DD. At least they got our of their bunks.

Next up USN SBD-5's at 200 mi range from Karenko. You never get the kind of coordination form a land base (even with a good Air HQ) you get from carrier attacks. 2/3rd's of the dive bombers are getting their oil checked or something. Nice escort, though. No, NO. NO! The BIG ONE! ATTACK THE BIG ONE! Secondary exprosion seen on Ryuho. Still, not very impressive. This was our chance to take out Soryu.
