If I remember my English writing classes correctly the identifier makes it singular, otherwise it would be the plural "Army Air Forces are gearing up"

Explanation: Good. The Yankees are getting killed, the Yankees is getting killed, the Yankees were getting killed, the Yankees will be getting killed, The Yankees were killed-it's all good. Yankees+losing (getting "killed")=good, no matter how you say it.

"Leeds United are palying well today"

Explanation: Either "Leeds United are playing well today" or "Who the &*%$ cares?" would be acceptable grammatical phrases here. "Palying" isn't much used these days in modern linguistics. 'Tis a pity, modern language and spelling.

We lost 3 B-24's yesterday over Naha.

B-25G model starting to arrive. Also P-38H and P-40N1.

USN and USMC fighter and SBD squadrons mostly filled out after the last run in with Soryu. About 1/3rd of USMC VMF squadrons now F6F. It's taking forever to build up the harbor facilities at Aparri (now 2.4). An entire infantry division plus support and a regiment of Marines were supposed to embark here for Okinawa. It will take forever because the APA's can't dock. Moving 1st Marine Regt to Batangas in bits and pieces to reform with the other two regiments of 1st Marine Div.

Iba is barely a level 2 port and 2+ divisions are supposed to embark there. It won't work. Might have to move one division somewhere or just leave them embarked for a week while the second division loads.

Massachusetts to bombard Naha tonight. B-24's to fly over Nago.

USS Phoenix and 2 DD's are going to try to reach Miri from Puerto Princesa and attack Jap shipping there.

Not sure about autovictory but it won't take 3 months to hit the home isrands. Horycrappo-jima is buildable to level 7 (at 2.6 now with 4 Air HQ already ashore) and from there the B-24's can reach all of Kyushu and Honshu as far east as Fukuyama.

So I thought you were not as far a long .. but I am thinking the minimum field of 7 although one can fly with a 5 .. not a lot of planes will meet a lot of IJN/IJA fighters

In order to avoid these penalties, the size of the airbase needs to be equal to:
4 + (Max load of aircraft / 6500), All fractions are rounded down.
Thus, an A-20A requires a minimum size 4 base, a B17-E requires a minimum size 5 base, and
a B29 requires a minimum size 7 base.

So I was calculating about 3 months to get this base to a level 7 ...

But once you do have multiple 4E groups pounding the IJ at night . thousands of points can be accumulated quickly in the numerator
The fall of big point values like Singapore and Manila shift the denominator dramatically
