Nik,
I noticed in a thread on the main page you mentioned Gamble's book on Rabaul. I've been eyeing that one as a potential purchase. Do you recommend?
Gamble's book on Rabaul.

" Fortress Rabaul: The Battle for the Southwest Pacific, January 1942-April 1943 ";

" Darkest Hour: The True Story of Lark Force at Rabaul - Australia's Worst Military Disaster of World War II ".

I have them both. Interesting reads I thought.

Yeah, I know.... trying to get my house chores finished up after getting my son in bed, and I'm getting more and more tired.

I have been regularly eating for two, if that's of any significance. [:D]

Allied dogs-I don't know why you are so intent on sleep. Much of your future involves 'the big sleep' for so many of your men. You should let them stay awake as long as possible, they are running out of time, Yankee fools! [:'(]

Well I certainly liked his " Flashman " series [:)]

I just finished " On Seas Contested ". Very interesting imo.

I am looking for another read, maybe I will give your book a try.

I didn't hear of that book before Simon and Martin...

Is it about Pacific (and Aussie troops)?
