Thanks....I'm not familiar with BigB's mod. Anything is better than starting from scratch. [:D]

Can the cluster for Big B's Mod sent to Damian earlier today and the previous one for RHS (sent to him earlier) be posted on the WitPTracker download website for others to access??

Under the TF tab, can you add both Cargo and Tanker to the mission choices?? I like to use Transport only when troops and airframes are involved while I use Cargo for Supplies/Resources and Tankers for Fuel/Oil. The slight difference in icons makes it easier to track.[:D]

I couldn't find that level of detail in the save file. Maybe there is another "TF Mission" field in there somewhere. But it has to be in there somewhere. Something to consider for later.

It happenes to me too. Just retry to load your turn and it will work.

Except when it completely hoses the database and you have to reload from scratch.

Are you sure it's completely stuck and not thinking really hard? If you can reproduce this, I could take a look at why it gets stuck.

Is there an ETA on the latest version of Tracker being available??

I ask because I'm hoping to get a PBEM game started with the soon to be released update version of Nemo's Empire Ablaze and would like it use it there. [;)]

If I need to crack the whip on Damian, that can be arranged. [:D]

As Damian said, any day now. I have it built and ready to go. Probably tomorrow if the whip hits me in the right spot... [;)]

This is fantastic work, guys!!! [&o][&o][&o]

I know things will change quite a bit when AE comes out, but I sincerely hope you will be able to use all of this hard work to base an AE version of WitP Tracker upon! [8D]

We'd hope to, but the initial word we had was that the AE save file format would be different (and encrypted).

Great.

I have another idea. If it is possible technically to load combat replay file 001 and extract sigint and contact reports by base or visually on map.

I'm not sure that information is in the 001 file - I think it gets generated from running the file (e.g., the operations_report.txt file and the three others). So unless we simulate what the game does, I don't think this will be possible.

Actually, I was thinking he meant the *.txt files, so that is why I thought it possible. But a long shot for future development.

I'm assuming you mean in the Air groups screen ... I believe that it is shown here as well as in the Ship Class screen.

I will ask differently. Is it possible to see carrier capable aircrafts in aircraft screen? For example I want so see only:
Zero, Val, Kete... that not on board of a CV.

Oh I see what you're getting at ... you want to see what planes are carrier capable ...

I'm not sure ... we haven't found the data point for that yet ...

So if I find the hidden switch somewhere, which takes time ... I'll see if Floyd will include it there .... So, I'll keep it in the back of my mind for later ... thanks for the post.

I searched for a while and nothing seemed to fit, so... not in this release.

Floyd,
I was thinking about this last night, I'm posting here because if any scenario designers stumble by maybe they can confirm. I did some testing and what makes a plane carrier capable is if it exists on a carrier, is IJN or can be upgraded/down to, from the initial grp.

[edit] but maybe there is more going on here ?

I put a grp of A6M3 (not carrier capable) onto a CV, then all A6M3's became carrier capable. So the switch is either in airgroups, or just calculated by WITP.

You are definitely right, it is too late for this now ...

If anyone can confirm ...

WitPTracker 1.1

Post by floydg »

The wait is over. The newest version is now ready and posted to http://witptracker.googlepages.com.

The following problems were (hopefully) fixed:
  • Scenario names containing quote characters should now load
  • Various fixes to the Ship Production panel
  • In the Air Groups panel, the number of pilots are shown as two numbers. The first number is the number of pilots the save game shows as in the Air Group and the second number, in parenthesis, shows the number of pilots actually found assigned to the Air Group.
New features added (many by your suggestion):
  • New LCU Production panel
  • New Victory Points panel
  • A new alert type for bases was added if the supply level is less than twice the needed amount. This only applies to bases which produce oil, resources, manpower or heavy industry.
  • Alerts for new LCUs only apply to the “base” unit, not fragments
  • The alert severity shows as a colored circle next to the text instead of colored text
  • In the Aircraft Comparison, you can now also filter by plane type (in addition to model)
  • In the Ship Classes panel, a magnifier icon tool tip was added to show the details of that upgrade.
  • The Leaders panel shows the best unit for a Leader to lead (instead of Branch, which wasn't accurate)
  • In the LCU panel, the Allow Replacements setting is shown (“Repl” on or off)
  • In the Ships panel, the ship class is also shown
Note that databases from earlier versions will be automatically upgraded by the program to add new information on some of the objects. The Victory Point information is only loaded going forward for new turns.

To upgrade the program from earlier versions, copy the new files, replacing the old ones. You should save the witptracker.properties file somewhere because the ZIP file contains a "default" one and then copy it back. The database files will not be replaced and, as mentioned above, will upgrade themselves when the new version is first run.

Let us know if you have any problems (as if any of you would hold back...).

We hope you enjoy the new version.

Floyd and Damian

Sorting by various numbers whether it be by ID number, delay, or other factors, the WitPTracker does so by the first number, not in chronological order. I was just looking at LCU Production and when you sort by "delay" if the first digit is a 1, then all those with a "delay" of 1, 17, 153, 1201 (as examples) come up first then 2's, etc..
It makes sorting in a chronological or in sequence impossible and that column useless unless you go through it manually (which defeats some of the purpose of WitPTracker).

The problem exist with any column by date (WitPTracker has in as mo/yr while the game itself is by yr/mo). Thus, using Air Production does not allow me to sort in chronological order, but comes out as Jan (1/??), Feb (2/??), Mar (3/??), etc..

Roger,
they are a bit elusive at present, not because we can't tell what is sunk, but we have yet to figure out how FOW works properly.

edit: Also Floyd is working on LCU and base VP as well ...

Thanks Michael, we know the sorting problem, it is somewhat of a pain to fix in Java, but we'll get it right one day... In LCU production you could use the Delay filter 7/14/30 days ... to help in this. And yes, you requested the Air screen changed, I just forgot about it ... Sorry.
