Im hoping StoneAge stops here to engage me....Id like one more shot at these IJA troops before they withdraw across the Salween.
SWPAC
SWPAC command has been relatively quiescent as SOPAC has stormed down the length of the Solomons.....mainly for lack of aviation and construction engineers.
A SWPAC amphibious TF makes its way to Milne Bay to pick up some RAAF engineers which it will then drop on Buna...this will be SWPAC's next major airbase to be developed and will mark the end of the 1st phase of Operation Cartwheel.
The 2nd phase of Operation Cartwheel will involve the capture and development of the Huon Peninsula in Papua New Guinea...this is scheduled for October 1942.
SOPAC
The followup troops go ashore on Torokina and the airfield there is now fully functional
....a squadron of F4F-4s and a squadron of SBDs are immediately staged in. Torokina can now provide its own air cover.
As soon as the 27th Division has completely unloaded we will begin the march through the jungle to Shortlands.
Task Group 58 rendezvous' with fleet oilers to top off their fuel bunkers.
