If that's LRCAP, you really can't rely on it. Half the time it simply doesn't fly. Even when it does fly its usually pretty ineffective.

I never use LRCAP. Just have airbases or carriers within a hex or three and you get the same effect without the horrendous fatigue penalties. If you need to land somewhere where this isn't possible then use Fast Transport.

I know two US CVs are in the DEI, so it is possible that they may try to interfere with the Mersing landings. However, that would put them at risk of meeting up with Netties and so far he hasn't shown any inclination to put his important naval forces anywhere close to Nettie areas.

KB is near Kendari and heading westward looking for his CVs or other shipping. He is aware of the presence of my carriers, however he asked me why I was willing to split KB up. I have NOT split KB up...all six CVs are there, but if he thinks I've split it, he may be willing to risk a carrier battle. Next few turns should be interesting.

I have two squadrons of obsolete DDs and TBs hanging around the Palembang area, hoping to draw any CV strike and keep them away from the landing zone as well.

I'm arriving late to this thread, but I wanted to express my enthusiasm for a sub-centered AAR. Lately I've been playing the solitaire boardgame "Silent War," with its "IJN" expansion. That game puts you in the role of the US submarine commander for the Pacific. You have tonnage targets that you have to meet; otherwise you're relieved. E.g., 90,000 tons by March 1. I'll be curious to see what the Allied tonnage is in your game as of that date, so if you happen to have an estimate, please post it!

Anyway, great AAR! Subscribed.
