Ok, this one should work.
Still no quad .50, hardly any .50, in fact. Guess it's too early in the war for those.

I didn't :D Bombed a type 92...

Anyway the Japanese have opened hostilities by dropping about two Para companies behind the lines  Managed to down two of the airplanes, but not after they dropped their cargo.
The ANZAC troops give them a warm welcome, decimating the Japanese troopers near the southern Vhs. Meanwhile, Stuarts move in to deal with the ones in my rear aea.

Way up north, recon forces clash, resulting in more Japanese casualties (Another Type 92 and a MC squad).

It's still quiet in the middle of the map, but for how long?

Recon battles!

To the South, my recon units and paratroopers seem to have found the main southern ANZAC force. 2 Jeeps and 2 Bren LMGs are destroyed.

To the north, recon elements clash once again. I destroy a Jeep and a scout team. A few of my Type 95 cars are destroyed.

To the rear the paratroopers continue their disruptive actions and destroy a scout team.

Your artillery fire is almost right on target, killing a few of my paratroopers. Those 3 inch mortars are pretty good if they hit right on. Your big 7.2 gun has missed however :D

The paratroopers in the south are all but wiped out, the recon forces beaten back, narrowly escaping the same fate.
Up north the japanese recon forces are beaten back as well, another type95 and two previously shot up MC squads are
wasted. There's a flame tank lurking nearby, have to bring up something to deal with it and any friends it brought.
More Japanese recon forces detected in the middle, motorcycles again.
In the east, the roar of an airplane engine is heard. A bold Vengeance pilot braves heavy AA fire to attack another flame tank. It survives, but there are numerous casualties in the vicinity.
**** tough plane BTW, takes 4-5 hits and it's still flying

The fighting continues as up North a flame tank dodges the dual main guns of an M3 Lee and destroys 2 DUKW amphibious transports. An australian airborne squad is also forced back by infantry.

In the middle a Bren LMG squad is destroyed.

The Japanese line moves ponderously forward. The surviving paratroopers in the South fall back.

My 150s arrive, I don't know if they hit anything though.

Your 150s hit mostly trees.
More amour spotted in the north and middle of the map,I think one of your AA won't be shooting much anymore.
More recon troops across the map trying to breach the ANZAC lines. Stuarts are moving to intercept all those motorycles.

2 M3 Lees to the north are detected and burned.

That So-Ki you disabled is now destroyed, lethally screwed by a 37mm round.

Front is moving...

Enemy artillery pounds my home VHes and the north. The Japanese suffer a few casualties but lick their wounds and proceed on.

To the rear, my paratroopers are not faring too well, but at least they have destroyed a Stuart and some scouts.

I think I got all of your paratroopers now. And a couple MC squads and a Type95.
In the north Lee #3 takes out a flame tank, but there's three more out there. Also some infantry showing up a bit further south.
More flame tanks ae appearing int he south and middle, with a whole bunch of infantry close behind. Looks like a juicy target for some big arty.
A Beafighter runs the AA gauntlet (Looks like 'Flight of the Intruder' :D ) and immobilizes a flame tank in the japanese rear area. Bombs make a big mess of the surrounding infantry.

The Japanese army continues its relentless assault. The north is pretty quiet, with an Australian (I think) squad pushed back by infantry.

To the middle, a Bren LMG squad is destroyed. A So-Ki goes face to face with a Stuart. the So-Ki fires everything it has on the Stuart but it seems that there is little or no effect. I hope all that 20mm hammering on the Stuart will convince the crew to bail...

To the south the action heats up (literally) as 2 Staghounds are destroyed in addition to 2 scout teams and another Bren LMG squad which has immobilized one of my flame tanks.

A lot of other small arms action across the lines, with the Japanese infantry usually coming out on top. Love those little "knee mortars" (actually a primitive version of grenade launchers)

Artillery rains heavily on both sides with 4.2 inch batteries causing several casualties on my lines. The Japanese answer with 105s and 90s.

Even more quiet in the north, with two more SS tanks out of action:D

The So-ki in the middle befalls the same fate as the Stuart it mistreated, as does another flame tank.

In the south ANZAC forces regroup to await the main assault of the Japanese.

More skirmishes and artillery across the line as more Japanese are seen approaching.

With a resounding cry of "BANZAI!!!" the Japanese army surges forward.

In the middle, 3 Bren LMG squads are destroyed. 2 Stuarts blocking the way of the horde are also burnt to blackened hulks.

To the south the IJA receives no resistance at all and continues its advance, destroying a stray ANZAC jeep.

The north is not faring as well however as a flame tank is lost in the careless charge. Another flame tank is suppressed in front of .50cals, a flame sherman and squads of infantry. 2 Bren LMG squads are destroyed north. These little ?2? man squads seem to be everywhere!

I think I lost a Type 95 somewhere along the line.

ANZAC artillery slows down the IJA advance. The big 7.2s hit this time...

BTW, I have realized that I have left a hole in my line up north, very careless..... I'm sending a sniper to check things out just in case.

How much do those Bren LMG squads cost? They're pretty good when they surprise armor (around 10-15% chance assault.) But are pretty bad against infantry...

LMG is 13 points. I'm not sure they're worth it compared to an 8 point scout team. They're better armed, but it's an andvantage that only works once, it seems.

So far, the battle is still going according to plan, mostly. The flame tanks in the middle are a bit of a problem, but that won't last.
In the north another flamer is decrewed, otherwise it's pretty quiet. Until the 7.2s find their mark and the air is filled with cries of BANZAARGH :D
Down south a medium rare paratrooper takes revenge on yet another flame tank, but nothing much else happens.
Third flamer to die is one near your home VHs, courtesy of a beaufighter.
More artillery rains down in an attempt to slow the Japanese advance somewhat, but I doubt it'll help much.

With a "Foh the Emperah!!!!!!!" scream, the Japanese army continues to advance. Several soldiers are blown away up north by a Sherman flame. The Sherman flame is later heated up to a nice well-done and the crew wisely abandons the vehicle.

A Bren LMG squad is also taken out in the North.

In the middle, I have almost taken all the VHes there. Those who blocked my way, a Stuart and another Bren LMG squad are wiped out.

The South is advancing slowly. I'm waiting for my infantry to catch up. A Staghound hiding in the trees (or fleeing, I don't know which one.) is burned to bits by a flame tank. A Rifle section also disperses.

Bringing up the flank to the utmost south, a few soldiers take out a scout team.

Behind my lines, nobody spotted yet. Seems clear. You really did a number on my home VHes though with those bombs. Your beaufighters are making clowns out of my AA crews!!!

Another flame tank dies in the woods somewhere.
ANZAC forces in the noth are rolling up the Japanese flank, sending the infantry running. Elsewhere, troops are slowly pulling back, luring in the Japanese, daring them to brave the artillery.

Your turn.
