Is it suppose to be badlands also?

Ja, terrain unsuitable for motorized movement. Note that while 'foot' units can move thru it, supply can only be traced into it [not thru it].
location 133, 148 is way off the south end of the map.

Thanks, it has been corrected.

It's a good thing my RR Engineers are repairing the rail around this area... I'm watching the terrain, but I guess I gotta look even closer now...

I've got a modified Badlands tile that might be easier to see. I'll stick it in with the next package.

AGS - Update 29MAR42, Turn 41.

Encirclement of Soviet forces has been completed by the 6 Panzer divisions, and now these Soviet
formations are going to be crushed by no supply lines and eliminated. Multiple Soviet units
are blocked up, including the Soviet 13th Army HQ.

Image

AGS update - These trapped Soviet units have been destroyed. Just one lonely division remains, and that
will be reduced here shortly.

Armament update -

New equipment is arriving to the battle field, Mid April, 42'.

Me-109's(late models) have been introduced to the AO. Squadron JG-3 was completely retrofitted
with the new equipment. Substantial increase in air power comes with this new model.

AGN update -

Soviet forces have been spotted moved on the Finnish troops on the east side of Lake Lagoda. AGN
Commanders are assessing the intel. AGN may need to fire up the Panzer troops to move forward
to tip the battle to assist the Finns. AGN wasn't tasked with moving much further east due to the
terrible terrain east of Leningrad.

Requests are coming in from the Finnish Government for the Germans to move. Although, the Germans
would like the 4 Finnish divisions sitting on the frontier to move out to assist.. No response as of
yet.

Got a question on withdrawing units. Is there a way to show that hex grid that the unit was last in prior
to it's removal? Not sure if TOAW can do that or not.

Reason that I am asking is that, with the below example, JG-3 was withdrawn, and replaced with a
new air group with new equipment. I have my AS net set up accordingly, but I don't have it memorized
as to what area of the front JG-3 was covering.

So um........I'd like to see that kind of information too. So I put in a request to Ralph for his advice on
this little detail. It would be pretty cool to know what it was so you can dispatch the replacement to
the same spot. I agree. Keep those really helpful observations coming dude.

And on that note, for this scenario, what about adding some snippet to the recent news feed when new
equipment is introduced to the battlefield. I always read through the news and other reports before
starting in on the battle stuff for each new turn.
Cheers

I've put in a request to Steve about it because it's his scenario too. It's mostly his actually. He's done the
lion's share of the work on it. I'm more just a cheerleader.

Just a suggestion to add a little more flavor to the scenario. That's all. At the end of the day, it doesn't
serve much, but rounds out the scenario IMO. And I'm only talking about new technology, tanks and planes mostly,
I suppose the list could get lengthy.. Either way.

Yeah more flavor. I like that. IMHO there's never enough news strings. I'd like to instrument the scenario where the
news strings tell you more about what is going on under the hood. Like the shock values for each side. And I like
the idea whereby the new equipment is announced. Things like that. More things about coming weather maybe.
I'd like to unleash Steve and let him go wild with the news strings.

In an effort to support both AGN and AGC operations, the rail line between Leningrad and Moscow
is being repaired. Divisions are pushing out 25kms from the rail line to keep the enemy from
interdicting rail movement and supplies.

So far, all efforts are being successful.

Operational battlefront view. Turn 44, 19APR42.

AGS just completed an encirclement and destruction of multiple Soviet units. Highlighted area is the
next pocket of Soviet forces that is targeted for Destruction by AGC and AGS Panzer divisions.

Resistance is stiff near Moscow, but weak points have been identified for a push through and a link up
with AGS panzers pushing NW.

AGN update - Extending defensive line along the Leningrad-Moscow rail line.
AGC update - Repositioning panzer forces for operations in conjunction with AGS panzers pushing NW.
AGS update - Main effort pushing north towards Tula to link up with AGC panzers pushing SE. Far southern
flank is holding steady due to low supply reaching the front line.

AGC / AGS update -

Close up of the salient being encircled by Panzers of AGC and AGS. Initial push off has been successful by AGC moving SE. AGS has run into some resistance, but with AGC's jump off, resistance is expected to turn.

The circle is scheduled to be closed off within two weeks, and another 4 weeks to reduce the pocket of defenders.

A view from the Soviet side with this salient started south of Moscow. Alot of Red troops showing in this pocket. Will see if Elmer spots what's going on.

AGC / AGS update.

The encirclement has been completed. AGC and AGS panzers and motorized units have linked up. The pocket of Soviet forces are completely cut off from their supply source. German Intel is unsure how many Soviet units are locked inside of this pocket. The reduction of this pocket may take longer than original expected. German Commanders have to contend with a breakout, or a potential relief effort from the east. Defensive lines are being draw for effort from both directions.

From the looks of it, Orel has a large defensive ring around the city, for the time being it is being sealed off.

From the Soviet point of view. A fair number of divisions still inside when the Germans closed the door. At least 4 HQ's at a quick look.

There will be a change in Soviet Commanders after this dust settles from this blunder.
