In the West, the heroic stand of the British II Corps prevented my Armour from being isolated.

The Germans recalled all of their Norwegian garrisons home to defend the Fatherland, so last turn I invaded with a division.

The Low Countries after moves.
I almost destroyed another panzer, but it retreated rather than being overrun.

The Siegfried Line and Italy.
Had I noticed that Trieste was open before I accepted Italy's surrender (or had Italian hexes reverted to German rather than British control) I could have invaded and captured it. That would have caused the Germans quite a few problems I think.

The Axis left Tirane open last turn so I invaded with a division and this turn reinforced. Supply will be terrible, but it should force the Germans to deploy some units here or else let me walk into the Balkans.

The Axis reoccupied Oslo, so I reinforce my Norwegian forces. Could perhaps put them to better use elsewhere, but on the continent they would only be in basic supply.

The Western Allies advance out of the Netherlands into the Ruhr.

Venice will have to wait until I have more forces to batter it down. Again Trieste is open, but again I can't invade due to the beaches being British. A bit of an anomaly I think that enemy beaches can be invaded but friendly ones can't.

I advance out of Albania and capture the port further North.

In Russia, I have a choice of either advancing NW to try and cut off the Axis forces, or South into Rumania. I choose the latter as it is safer and doesn't require any attacks by my exhausted units, other than capturing Odessa.

AGC.
I think if I was Stjeand I would start moving my AGN forces back to shorten my lines and rail units West. The Allies are a bigger threat than the Russians.

He's on his last legs. One more breakthrough and you could end it in 1944.

I think Sveint is right. With only 3 probable clear turns left I doubt I will win the game in 44. But after this turn I am pretty confident that I will win it before the end of July 45.
The troubles for the Axis started in Italy, where multiple low odds attacks and one final high odds attack overran the panzer grenadier defenders of Venice. Coupled with an amphibious invasion near Trieste, this led to a breakthrough in this area.

But it was even worse news for the Germans on the Dutch German border, where the Allies broke through into Northern Germany.

The Allies also captured Cologne with a surprising 1-1 Attack.

In Russia a stubborn defending corps prevented a breakthrough.
