Great Purge 2.0

Ya, seemed to be helpful for the Soviets too.

I am finishing up my moves in this game now and will have the turn over to Guctony later tonight. (Work & selling house is killing me :( After that I will begin on T12 of my Jubjub game which I only quickly looked at. Turn 12 over there is going to get real interesting with lots of real time commentary. Unless of course you want a 5 turn delay on the commentary ;-P

The game is on "Hold" at a minimum at the moment, "Terminal" at the most until at least the next couple of patches come out. Too many items are having an impact in patch .09 & .10 in the AIR to continue. Up to my opponent if they are willing to wait or get another game, I don't care either way.

Just for reference is this thread https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=5085899 why I came to putting this game on hold and maybe even terminal hold.

Yo,
Sorry Mister H for sending my findings so late but the best would be the north Plan , sent all Panzergroups north,
Take Riga and then stop going north and just advance East until you reach Tula , then go south until you hit Stalino.
Use reserve formations and Army group north to hold the line while everyone else starts going south.

You will have created the biggest Pocket ever , saved yourself from the endless steps of Kiev and streamlined the
Entire supply line from the port of riga to the town Tula in a straight line, you also will threaten Moscow and later on Stalingrad , while also
Driving south with your elite Panzers ,avoid the harsh winter of 41.

If you make good progress the Black Sea can be reached at Rostov by the start of October.

Thank you for much for this. I have something in the works similar to what you posted above which is very good. I started this strategy in this game with Bobo here https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.a ... ge=11&key= but Bobo had real life to take care of. I hope Bobo is doing well since I have not seen him post in awhile.

After some thought on this game I will continue with current ruleset. My other game with Jubjub has to wait for the air fix since I am at a turn that I need full use my Air force. I truly think the Jubjub game is going to be a really good long term game. Jubjub is a very tough opponent.

Now in this game I feel we can squeak out 6-7 more turns before I will 100% want the use of my Air force fully.

Turn 2 End of Turn

North

I continue my advance toward Tallinn capturing Parnu this turn. Gotta have those two oil hexes near Leningrad.

Turn 2 End of Turn (NOT a real turn update)

North

Clean out all the pockets and stay semi close to my supply. This game will be even more tempered than my Jubjub game on taking territory. If a can't supply it within a certain amount of hexes then I am not advancing unless I feel it absolutely necessary to take without supply being close. In my game with Jubjub for awhile I had units way too advance eating up trucks.

You can see 1 of my 4 German FBD's heading North towards Riga.

You can also see that I already have interlocking ZOC's to prevent any Soviet incursion into and behind my lines already. The Soviets either have to make retreat the regiment or have enough MP's to get through the ZOC's. How you set up your ZOC's matter too. Many times I see them not set up correctly in peoples games :(

Turn 2 End of Turn (NOT a real turn update)

Center

Clear out all pockets from 1st turn. Have interlocking ZOC's on front line already for any attempt to infiltrate my lines. Surround 2 airborne brigades and an Inf Division. I line up on the Dnepr for a possible push towards Gomel.

FBD is circled in orange.

****Remember there is motorization in the game and see opening remarks about motorization use. I have used it sparingly so far but will be a factor shortly.

*****Also note that I am only playing with 4 Assault HQ's

South

Again, get rid of all pockets and move forward.

FBD circled in orange under the HQ. The other FBD I showed in last post but can be seen in this snapshot too. I am converting both dual tracks in the south and will be linking them with the RAD battlions/regiments.

Turn 2 End of Turn (NOT a real turn update)

South

I am using the Rumanian FBD a bit different this game :) Linking up those Level 2 railyards and getting multiple single track lines connected to the dual track line this game in the South. I will also be using 6 of my RAD battalions in the South alone this game to convert rail track
